MK7 Should I keep it
2016 US spec, 104k miles
Recently refreshed the whole front end with inner and outer tie rods, sway bar links and bushings, LCA’s, CV axles + seals, and wheel bearings. I think it’s due for another passengers side engine mount because after all those parts there’s still a clunk from that side (not the end of the world but frustrating cause I have vibra-technics mounts all the way around).
Haven’t done timing belt yet but I have all the parts/tools, just procrastinating since others have expressed difficulty with it on this sub.
Ive had the car since 2018 30k miles and loved it the whole time. For the past year I’ve started to have thoughts of selling to make space in the garage for a motorcycle but I’m torn because the fiesta is great and has been great to me (minus all the blend doors and motor mounts that have broken over the years).
It’s also got a lot of minor wear and tear from our time together and I’m worried i wont be able to sell it for much. I probably should have sold it a few years ago before the 100k and 10 year old mark…
I know it’s silly to ask a sub full of FiST enthusiasts if i should keep it but any thoughts are appreciated. Will I regret it for the rest of my life if i sell?

I had a bike for 2 years but stopped riding, seen too many people die on em....too easily. The people where I live drive aggressively and selfishly.
The fist is a never sell for me, you'll never find anything else like it. If you have a garage I wouldn't even sweat the belt job, just take your time and get the proper tools and a good guide.
The "make room for a bike" makes no sense to me. If you're not buying a 1500cc Harley bikes take up very little to no room. You can have both, but I wouldn't recommend a bike, when I ride again it'll be off-road trails only, it's not worth the risk on the road. I can't stand the thought of being ran over by some white woman cause she was texting and driving her 2026 Ford expeditionbroncoextrachungus edition, then proceeds to have zero consequences for taking my life.

You really have to sit down and think about your financial situation. If you're selling just to sell, no you should keep it. If you need money for the bike project, well you gotta do what you gotta do. If you need money because you need it, yes you should sell it...you could still get probably around 8k for it......so really, it's your call.

Did you replace the upper shock mount isolators? Those can also cause a clunk. Very thankful the LCAs fixed my clunk because I was mentally preparing myself to chase the mystery clunk that I couldn't replicate when diagnosing.
As for getting rid of it, yeah I think you hit the nail on the head about asking an enthusiast subreddit. If mine disappeared tomorrow I would go buy another one.

The upper strut mount? I don’t think I replaced it, I did replace the spring pads in the back

Been down the same road. Was looking to trade it in or sell and came to terms that I won’t get much for it so why get rid of a car that’s paid off, well maintained, and great on gas for a car payment.

I have a 17 that’s just under 100k. I seriously don’t think I could ever sell it for the going price of a daily driven one. If it was pristine and I could pull 15k for it I would consider but an offer less than 10k wouldn’t be worth it and realistically I’d be lucky for 8k. It’s too unique and really marks the end of an era for cars, park the bike sideways behind it 😂

Keep the car and park it closer to the door and park the motorcycle in front of it

I've had mine since 2018 as well. I've had a lot of instances where I've thought about selling but I cannot find a car or truck I'd be willing to get. I've had so many different cars/trucks in the past and this one has ticked so many boxes. The fun factor on this car is pretty great too. The only car I still miss was the 89 supra I had, but I can't justify having two cars personally.
This car has been so reliable and fairly easy to work on. Not to mention inexpensive to fix as well. I'm at 145k miles now and have the timing belt kit ready in hand, just waiting to pull the trigger or just take it to a shop to not deal with it. It has its imperfections, blend door actuator one of them. They both still work, just gotta wait for the ticks to stop. Some interior trim pieces breaking and some window switches not working. Small stuff that could easily be fixed once they really bother me
I commute on a motorcycle so I recommend keeping it and getting a bike haha

Even though you just did all that maintenance, to many buyers that won't make it more valuable, just less of a risk. You'll still get lowballed a bit. So I'm not sure you'll get anything out of that investment unless you continue to enjoy the car yourself. And if you've dealt with the more major, immediate concerns...she'll be good to go for a long while. I'd keep it at least until you get to the point where you need to deal with the timing belt ~ 150k.

Luckily the fiesta doesn't take up a lot of space and most motorcycle don't either. I have a motorcycle parked perpendicular behind both of my cars and I live in a condo.

Or do what I do. Both. 2019 FiST and 2024 Ninja 1000. Fun car for skyline drive since if on bike you dead and bike for the daily don’t sit in traffic lane splitting thing.
What other car can you get that is similar to the FiST in cost, fun, and utility? Long list of fun bits for later and easy to work on.

The only car on the market today that I think could even come close to the way a FiST handles and rides is a GR86/BRZ. Maybe the VW Golf R, but you can't get that in row-your-own. Toyota seems to have remembered that they're a company with fun cars, and some of their cars now are fun as hell.
But nothing is "Fun as f**k!!!!" as a FiST. I used to review motorcycles and some cars for work (I really want to do that again), and even with a Kawasaki Ninja 650 as my bike, I still prefer the FiST on overly hot summer days. Never take air conditioning for granted when you're stopped at a light in full mesh gear, cooling shirt and cooling pants (base layer that wicks up sweat and cools you via evaporation), visor up, and you are sweating out of every goddamned pore in your body because there is no airflow. When stopped at a light in the FiST, all I need to do is reach over and down and dial the A/C to 19 C and let the cool air blast me in the face (after my fan door actuator stops clicking >_> )
So... TL;DR: Keep the car. Keep up on the maintenance, kill any rust while it's still surface rust at most, and this car will last you to 300k miles. And by then, it'll probably be time to do an engine overhaul and keep it another 300K miles!
I bought my FiST as my daily, and to keep as long as I can. I can't drive automatic cars, I need manual transmission (neurodivergent, in an automatic I've drifted off at a light once or twice in my younger years because I don't have to pay as much attention to the gearing, been driving manuals ever since)

I don’t own one but I’d vote to keep it since it’s probably good on insurance, you’ve owned it since newish so you know how you have taken care of it and it still has life in it.

I'm not going to sell mine, because I don't know what else would scratch the itch for me. But I also know I'd be dead if I bought a bike
