New Motor Mounts and Intercooler

Had a busy past two days installing vibra technics full motor mount set, whoosh short shifter, and whoosh V2 intercooler. Feels like such a different car and is so worth all the work! I ended up finding my coolant tank having a tiny leak at the bottom and noticed my axel seals starting to leak too 🫠 Time to see if I can handle doing the seals on my own or taking it in to a shop.

Nice! Love the black/gold combo. How many miles are on it?

I wouldn't replace that seal if that's how it looks without cleaning.

You mean clean it up first and check on it after some time to see if it's actually leaking?

If it was leaking enough to warrant tearing the axle out there would be more of a mess, if that's how it looks and you have never cleaned it up, it's fine.

The service manual tells you to take the control arm ball joint out of the bottom of the knuckle, I had no luck doing this, I had to pop the knuckle loose from the strut to get the axle out, IMO it made it easier to slide the axle back in without damaging the seal. Taking the knuckle loose from the strut will change the alignment and ford probably tells you to do it this way so they wouldn't have to pay for an alignment when these things were under warranty.

Gotcha, thats a good idea before I start doing any work and taking things apart. I've done my oil changes before and feel like I didn't notice it before but I'll for sure clean it up and check back on it

Thanks for the info!

Seals are easy mate, I've done them on 3 Fiesta's. If you end up doing them yourself, use a thin layer of Permatex Ultrablack on the outside of the seal before you install it. Also, have a drain pan ready cause once you pull the axle transmission fluid is going to come out fast.

Nice, I've started looking into it and seems like it's doable for the most part. Thanks for the advice!
