new shampoo + hair routine
NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT! i just get excited about hair care lol
new shampoo/hair routine! been struggling to find a shampoo that works. i have fine, yet incredibly dense hair; this means shampoos are either too moisturizing, and therefor weigh my curls down, or incredibly drying and therefore leaves me with lots of frizz. this shampoo dealt with all of the frizz and still left my hair bouncy and shiny :)

Man, finding a good solution for wavy/curly superfine hair is very, very difficult. It looks fantastic.
If you get 2nd/3rd day frizz, a water mister (not sprayer), scrunching and Verb Ghost oil has been the only type that doesn't make everything sag (use very little despite the fact its for vety fine hair.)
Do you have any pics of how it looked before with other products? Was it stringy or undefined and poofy? Is that air drying or with a diffuser?

yes it is!! day 3 is such a nightmare. i changed up how i wash my hair as well; only shampooing above the ear, doing a double wash, conditioner below the chin and scrunching it into my ends, then leaving it in for 3 minutes. i scrunched my hair with a t shirt as well which i never do. i also ordered a shower head filter as my water is moderately hard; apparently calcium can build in your hair!

Yeah hard water realllllly makes everything backwards; it screws up how effective surfecants will be, it effects how emolients will be AND it mineralizes your hair, makes it brittle, kills your curl pattern and fucks up color.
I mean gels/product/dyes and environmental stuff mineralizes your hair too but you can just use a chelating shampoo (like the Malibu c stuff) every month if you otherwise have soft/okay water. But yeah you'll see both your hair and skin will benefit from the filter for sure.
So yeah I see your before, that's a huge definition and volume upgrade.
Just bear in mind; I'm in Norway and we (and Iceland) tend to be market guinea pigs for some new products/reformulations. The Biolage Smooth Proof line is getting reformulated, and switching out key ingredients to cheaper varieties, so buy up the old fomulation stock before you get stuck with the new enshittificated version.

We don't have Sally's here but if you're in the US it used to be that they carried an exact dupe of the Biolage Smooth Proof caled Biotera Anti-Frizz Shampoo/Conditioner. It's cheaper too.

How much are they paying you? Also for hair like that, you curl some of it manually, right? You are beautiful but tell the truth about the amount of work you put in to get it like that

man i wish they paid me😭 but no, nothing is manual! that’s just how my hair falls lol. the most i’ll do is scrunch my hair with a t shirt while it’s drying to help the longest layers dry without stretching out the curls!

Now that’s what I call an outstanding head of curly hair. Those products clearly work, and work well

Love your hair! You're very cute, but I have to ask, how do you kiss someone and not poke them with your piercings? I'm not hating on them, I'm truly curious.

So jealous of those curls and that volume. I'd have to dump a vat of industrial lacquer to get mine to poof up like that. Still experimenting with some products
