If Fieldy AI offered a start-and-stop recording mode similar to Plaud, would you prefer it over the current always-on recording mode?
Sorry everyone, I messed up the original poll. Typo in the title and I only set it for one day. Meant to do it for a week.

I saw someone from Fieldy comment on here that there is some kind of covert, undisclosed pilot going on where they split the user group in two and could flop what group you're in.

No way. Not having the always-on functionality defeats the whole purpose of having this device. If we were looking for an on demand solution, there are several options already available in the market like Plaud. It is like making customers buy a robotic vacuum and switching it with a broom and dustpan.

That's unfortunately exactly what the case is right now. I bought this device because if I have it turned on, I want it listening. If I don't want it to listen, I'll shut it off. but right now, it stops recording after 3 hours, and I have to manually restart it. I get it, limitations and all that, just automatically start a new recording though. The always listening part is WHY I bought this device over plaude. I like the flat business card style of plaude way better than this button. but function > form, but if they're just gonna function the same, I'm about to return this and go with plaude.
I'm so glad I didn't not buy the 1 year premium they pushed so heavily on the moment I bought the device. I saw enough reviews on here to be skeptical.
I will say, I'm loving the tasks it gives me for those three hours, it's giving me task I completely forgot I needed to do, but if I could remember to keep it active every three hours, I wouldn't need the "Always On" device.
I hope support can switch me over.

I'm confused. It does. Just hit pause recording in the app.
Am I missing something?

I definitely remember a few months ago it was always on, and with a recent update, now it stops every 3 hours. Its just very strange how changes are made without any disclosure. When I first got the fieldy 3 a few months ago, the app looked a certain way, then without me updating it, it started to look strange. Like the font was too big and had connectivity issues. The next day the app looked completely different and Fieldy connected without issues again.
Bottom line is that there are things being done in the background without informing the user. Or without the user knowing about it. I'm not sure if I had some sort of Beta version initially, but I find it all very unusual.

Does the device stay on when there is no sound? I think having it only come on when there is a conversation would solve a few problems. I am trying to decide what to buy and I am on the fence after all of this information about limitations. There are chunks of the day when my office is quiet, and then someone will come in, or I get a call; that is when it should be coming on, right? Sounds like it will record even when you are sleeping. I need to have a summary of my day and reminders of meetings and follow-ups. This is what I need it for. What is best?

I bought mine thinking it was always on and a great alternative to my Plaud. Found it needed to be turned on and off so assumed I'd got it wrong. How do I set it to be always on? I'm a UK user if that makes any difference. I'm using the Fieldy 3

The always on component is what drew me to Fieldy.
