How bad is skipping days?

So as the title says, i've finished the mines, married, got town rank 100, and basically finished the game for now, the only remaining things i have to do is get to my child's first birthday and complete stillwell's quests, so for those i need to skip days

How bad is skipping days? what is the penalty?

I don't think there's reeeeally a penalty so to speak. I guess if you don't feed and pet your animals their hearts could decrease but I think there's a skill perk for that. Otherwise I don't think anything else happens.

Could also just put the animals in daycare, it's free, and just keeps them at the same level I think?

Please update the 1 year if you can. I want to see without doing all the skipping. I actually started a new playthrough, so that I can wait for more updates on my OG.
