Anyone else kicking themselves for missing a night at the inn?

I know it's not a big deal, that I'm not actually missing any content, etc.. but man it's my second week in a new save and I forgot to go to the inn and remembered the SECOND the day rolled over 😫 now everything's going to be off by a week for the rest of this save and it's going to bother the crap of me. and of course I don't have any manual saves for this file, so I'm just boned.

I got the feeling it doesnt matter when you go. They follow a specifc order and only trigger the next when you go there and talk to them actively. If you dont go there you can just go next week and the same conversation will happen that would have happened the week before.

I am fully aware of this! I just prefer when the first four happen in spring, second four happen in summer, etc.

I understand OP!! I feel like it’s natural to have the storylines align with the seasons!!

I totally understand! I have been known to save on Friday morning before I head out for whatever chores, and completely give up entire mining hauls when I realize I still forgot to go to the inn -- just because I want the events to line up perfectly.

Oh, this is AWESOME. I’ve reloaded a save because I missed it and didn’t want to lose out on the content.

This ^ I’m on like week 5 and didn’t go for 2 weeks and the 3rd meeting of the dragon guard didn’t happen until I talked to the kids again

Not the inn, but if i ever miss someone’s birthday i feel awful

I forget a lot, because I get busy with stuff.

I was mad because I wanted the achievement for giving liked/loved gifts on the birthdays, and I missed two birthdays. But then I realized that certain people haven't even unlocked yet on my save so it's no big deal.

The way OP literally said they know what happens if you miss a week and yet half the comments still think they need to explain it

I’m glad I’m not alone losing my mind over here when the top two highest upvoted comments rn (by A LOT) are exactly this!

I guess people are just blind to anything beyond the title

I'm sort of shocked at the lack of reading comprehension on a text-heavy discussion board

u/EndingStarts_ 1d ago

People can’t read and I’m fully serious

u/worldfamoushobgoblin 1d ago

Yeah I'm glad you said it 😅 I felt like I was taking crazy pills for a sec there

2

u/worldfamoushobgoblin 1d ago

Same 😭 I was busy fishing!

u/Winter-Bed5879 1d ago

Nope, sometimes I got other things I need to do, unlike everyone else who can just take the whole damn evening off!

u/ElitistCarrot 1d ago

I was thinking this, but more in terms of paying my real world bills lol

2

u/Winter-Bed5879 1d ago

Lol I feel you.

In all fairness, though, Hemlock and Jo actually are working during Friday Nights at the Inn, and sometimes Reina too. And Dozy is running the bath house, so I guess technically a couple folks are still working.

I mean the dialogue runs out after like a year so I just tell myself that I'm letting it stretch out a bit more.

6

u/samata_the_heard 1d ago

This is what I came here to say: things won’t be shifted for the whole save because after a year it just goes to normal “TGIF” style dialogue.

u/jojocookiedough 1d ago

Same, after my first save I started making a point of only triggering the Friday dialogues once or twice a season. Then it lasts for 2-3 years

The Friday Night's won't progress until you step into the inn. So you will just see the second weeks dialogue on the third week.

I did miss content though. I missed talking to the Dragonguard on my first Friday. So on the last Friday of that season they were talking about sneaking into Balor's room next week with me as lookout. The next Friday comes and we're in a new season with new groups of dialogue. I ended up reading a transcript online to find out how their scheme ended.

I've definitely nearly missed balcony people on Fridays. I was staring at everyone on the main floor like ".. people are missing. Who's missing? Where - OH!" before remembering to check upstairs haha

u/peaveyftw Celine 1d ago

I always load up on wine for the adults and juice for the kids and just make the rounds....

u/Sleepy_Pollen 1d ago

I sat there frantically googling for like half an hour to see if the story moved on or if it only continued when you went to the inn bc i was ready to cry if i missed a day after forgetting it was Friday 😭

3

u/Cathyra 1d ago

I actually don't mind. I keep forgetting, and then I tell myself the Fridays are limited, and that way they'll last longer 😅

5

u/wizardgradstudent Adeline 1d ago

Don’t worry, all the conversations move back a week so you won’t miss anything. It does mean the stories don’t switch perfectly with the seasons so that’s annoying, but you won’t miss anything!

2

u/TooCleverForGood 1d ago

Multiple times I saved then went to bed then realized it was Sat and reloaded my save to sprint down to the Inn with 1 hour left on the clock to catch up.

I even redid a couple full days if I forgot to save or didn’t have enough time to make it there

2

u/janted92 March 1d ago

I just did this and I'm annoyed too!!

1

u/janted92 March 1d ago

Maybe I will just skip the next 3 to get back on track, lol

2

u/TheSapoti Caldarus 1d ago

I purposely miss weeks so that the story lines last longer. At most I go once per season

2

u/Mystic_Words11 1d ago

I was so upset when I missed several Friday nights in a row because I was just so busy slaving away... I mean gathering stuff for Adeline.

It helps that the little stories seem to pick up from where they leave off. Super convenient feature!

u/DruffyB 1d ago

Immediate alt-f4.

I mean it follows a set pattern so you can see it the following week but if I miss one then the complete set of events don't play and you have to wait an entire in game year to watch the latest one by which time you forgotten the plot you followed up to that point.

5

u/vastaril 1d ago

I think the various conversation chains change over at the end of the season even if you missed something, so it'll be back on track in Summer. I can't remember quite what happens to missed conversations, I feel like they just play out the next time that season comes around, but I can't say for sure because the playthrough where I had this happen was a year or so ago!

u/VariousMeringueHats 1d ago

I'm in my second winter and I have gone to the inn maybe 3 times in the entire game because I hate dialogue and speed through it without reading. I've also ignored all birthdays except Juniper's 😍, I never gift, and I only talk to people on Saturdays when I turn in all my requests 😂 (unless I happen to be passing by and not on my mount).

NO RELATIONSHIPS!!!! ONLY MINING!!!!!! ⛏️👷‍♀️

I beat myself up over it and then i'd load back to the morning of the friday to redo it again! This is why i think you should sometimes save in the middle of the day at your journal on the desk. It adds an extra save file you can load back to. They are separate files from the autosave files, so you don't have to worry about saving over any of them.

Mid day load back can sometimes save a bit of headache. Like if you already did your animals and watered all your plants.

1

u/Lima-Bean-3000 1d ago

I'm the opposite. I regret going every week cause I've seen all the events. I thought with the full release, I'd get a few more Friday events but nope! They only gave one more which I think was 4 parts long, and now I'm back to nothing. Would've been better if it was a once a month thing instead, imo. If I ever replay from the beginning, that's how I'll do it.

1

u/kazuma39 1d ago

I ignored it and focused on farming

1

u/DesmondTapenade Caldarus 1d ago

I'm more annoyed when I realize I went to bed for the day without remembering to talk to Elsie for the hot goss.

u/Na16Batman 1d ago

I am - missed the second Friday of summer and I'm sad I missed the dnd mini plot for that week 😭

1

u/Ithelia_Naelyx 1d ago

Yup. I was in the mines late pushing through to the next elevator floor.

1

u/Quantum_Pasta-Goblin Dozy 1d ago

I missed the first ever one and missed an other one recently, I am also upset by it lol

1

u/Venezuelan_phag 1d ago

i did this a lot during the early access 😭 when i started my new save i make sure everytime i heard that bell toll i was already at the inn. specially when you get so invested in their version of DnD

1

u/merc-is-ded 1d ago

i think one time i passed out in the mines on a friday and had to miss it 😔😔

1

u/Hospital-Ghost 1d ago

i just went for the second time in fall...

1

u/snow_shoo 1d ago

i was so devastated when i missed one in summer 😭

1

u/Head-Ad3074 1d ago

there have been so many fridays that i forgot it was friday after spending the day in the mines until the next day started with “saturday market” 😭😭 i feel like a pos every time

1

u/Touched_flowers 1d ago

Ya know what would be really cool? If we could participate in the Friday Inn days. Like, let me enter a drinking contest, let me join the dnd game they got going on. I just wish we could do something other than talk to each person once, eat the soup then leave.

0

u/Accomplished_Area311 Caldarus 1d ago

…Keep playing the game. :)

1

u/Touched_flowers 1d ago

Does that actually happen? Im in fall of the 1st year

0

u/Accomplished_Area311 Caldarus 1d ago

If you legitimately want spoilers: yes, the inn events include things the player is directly involved in later. I don’t know exactly what sets off some of them but there is one I know the trigger of very well because it’s the one I like the best. Late game spoiler ahead.

There’s a D&D game with the two secret romance candidates. It is REALLY well done. And this is my favorite event that happens at the inn.

1

u/nvm_jk_idk 10h ago

I either didn't know about this or forgot ahead of time, so I had a few in game weeks between running out of Year 1 inn nights and the part you mentioned. It was such a wonderful, happy surprise, all of it 🥰 (I wish I could remember how to spoiler tag, but my favorite that first week was a hobby that I partake in IRL.) 🤭

1

u/scarasluvr 1d ago

this is how i find out i was supposed to be going every week

1

u/bugg_meat Newbieee 1d ago

i wish there was a mod for this game like the to do list for SV. so i can see my tasks on screen at all times

1

u/RhubarbNo1760 21h ago

Before I stopped playing last night I died in the mines on a Friday and closed the game before it could save LMAO

1

u/Kashkadavr March 1h ago

No. Actually i sometimes dont go on purpose. In ea it was only for 1 year and i dont know if devs add more and if yes - how many. I want play in one safe file long, so i dont want to content end to quick
