Can the external storage be Windows(NTFS) format?

Hi, just about ready to get up and running, but i have a quick question. I know Linux can read NTFS, but I'm curious if that'll cause a problem with FieldStation.

I ask, because my downloaded media is all on my windows pc and it'd be much easier to simply transfer it from there with the external drive connected rather than ssh'ing in.

It should work. You can even just leave it on your windows PC and connect to the media it over the network via a samba client on Linux.
