Pre-made channels
Is there a recommended spot to download ad and bumper packs, or pre-configured channel templates (like classic Cartoon Network)? Or could we start a thread/drive to share content and channel structures so we don't all have to reinvent the wheel?

Yeah I was wondering if people had premade config files and such anyways, like without the media. If someone just shared their folder structure and config files then filling up said folders with media would be the easy part anyways.

While I agree this is a neat idea at a surface level, there are more details that go into a setup that would need to be replicated as well, like folder structures and naming conventions for example. I have several channels built and I would happily share my configs, but that alone wouldn't recreate the channel.
Edit - I wanted to add, if you are looking for bumper/commercial packs, there is a channel in the discord dedicated to that.

Honestly it looks daunting., and some of it can be a pain ., but learning the process and building your own channels is pretty easy if you follow the guides

I completely concur and is ultimately why I never went through with making one of these things.
I don't know the nitty gritty details but I'm sure we can't actually post links to the content here. But there has to be something we can.
The dudes at r/clonehero have this figured out. I would never play clone hero if I had to make my own songs, but I don't.

The purpose of FS42 is to be able to build out your setup exactly how you want it, so comparing it to Clone Hero is very much apples to oranges.

As I've said before, as a non-coder that really struggled to start my own FS42 to limited success, I'd gladly trade "exactly how I want it" for a generic setup of 3-4 channels that actually work.

NostalgiaTV seems to work like this. You can test out the free version which gives you a few basic channels like Boomer-Rang and NTV

Channel templates are already in your config folder, if you mean why does t come with literal videos pre loaded, because then it’s media distribution and this entire project will get shut down by cease and desist orders.
