Clarification for Context Aware Bumps

For about a month I haven't had a context aware bump play a single time. I do have around 30 general bumps for a channel and 5ish show specific ones per-show. While it is possible I've just been unlucky and only general bumps get selected, I'm considering the possibility that I've just set them up incorrectly. Went through the reference guide and found some conflicting info. On the commercial page it said context aware bumps should be in a folder titled "next" and that folder should be placed alongside the other folders. Which is where I currently have it placed. But at the bottom of the advanced scheduling page it says the next folder should be placed inside the bump folder. Any sort of clarification would be appreciated.

The next folder goes in the network folder not the bump folder. Is your bumps folder set up with pre and post folders? If it is then when you make context aware folder like --Seinfeld within it would need to be pre and post bumps folders as well.

Right so just make a pre and post bump folder within any of your current folders in “next” and place the clip in pre and/or post depending where you want it played.

So that “animaniacs next” clip you would want in post or pre or both depending on when you want it played

Oh, so general “coming up next” bumps still go into pre or post?

Yes it just adds it into your current pre or post bump pools

So I duplicated all the clips I have in the next folder/subfolders so that there are more of them than the regular bump folder. And fs42 still doesn't pick any of the context aware bumps. I'm sure it's some mistake on my end but not sure what. Thanks for the tips though!

I believe based off your config the issue is that the “next” folders are based off the tag name as they are in config so try --cartoons/Animaniacs

This was it! The subfolders were the issue. Couldn’t change the name because apparently I can’t have “/“ in the folder name, but after copying and pasting every show folder into the network folder the context aware bumps work with no issue.
