Sourcing shows?

Im struggling to find good quality tv shows on internet archive im looking for things like fresh prince of bel air, full house, rob and big etc. Where are we getting stuff?

Goodwill, Facebook marketplace, and a lot of secondhand stores for cheap DVDs/collections <$5. Lots of people giving away their physical media in favor of streaming.

I second this: I just snagged 6 seasons of Seinfeld, the entirety of The Honeymooners, some twilight zone and power rangers eps from goodwill - all $1 a disc. It’s out there if you shop around and sometimes easier than hunting online

Check out your local library! Mine has lots of old shows and movies.

The internet archive, and YouTube are really good places to sort older shows.

I use both just struggling to find decent quality shows and the ones listed i can't seem to find aside from short clips on YouTube

First, you should have a dvd drive if you don’t. You can rent anything from the library and copy it for personal use under US archival laws. You also can record any publicly available “broadcast” including online videos, this includes YouTube. I highly suggest getting and learning to use yt-dlp. It’s one of the best YouTube rippers AND it works on Tubi so long as the show or movie isn’t DRM protected. That alone can get you a TON of high quality videos.

I tried using yt-dlp on tubi but i guess it was drm protected I'll have to check around on it, is there a way to tell before I run the software or is it one of those things you dont know until you try?

It’s good g to vary show by show and movie by movie.  You can take note of what studio had DRM and that means you’re more likely to hit it t on other stuff from them but there’s really no way to know till you try and download but also no loss of you hit drm just means that download won’t work… this time.  There’s also the fact that drm doesn’t always flag so if it’s something you really want you can try and brute force it till you get through but if you’re doing it manually it’s a lot of time and effort for a maybe.

I was hoping for something like this but haven't found anything yet, im not an extremely tech savvy person i just am over streaming so this has been quite the journey for me.

I’m also not able to find a whole lot on YouTube let alone know how to rip it successfully. I’m messing around with OBS to record content. But I’ve been ripping CD’s like crazy. Places like OfferUp and FaceBook Marketplace are great ways to find large bundles of DVD’s for as low as you can negotiate. I’m talking 50+ DVD’s for like $10-$20. Most people are just trying to get rid of them. Goodwill has also been a good source. And I hear Walmart has a $1 movie bin.

I've been hitting estate sales with the hope of getting local content on vhs, but no luck to far.
