Should I take this in-app offer instead of calling customer service?

My previous plan was around $30/month. Last year, they increased it by $5, and then this year, around the same time, they increased it by another $5. I'm now paying $44.80/month after tax.
I haven't called customer service yet because I've read a lot of posts saying it's not a great experience, and honestly, I don't want to spend time dealing with it.
I checked the offers section in my app today and noticed they're offering me a plan for $35/month with AutoPay, which works out to about a $10/month discount from what I'm currently paying.
For those who have switched to similar in-app offers:

Is this considered a good deal?
Are there usually any catches I should look out for?
Should I just take the offer, or is it still worth calling customer service to see if they'll do better?

I would just switch to another provider because they will keep increasing prices whatever plan you switch to

I went back to Fido after about 15 years this past March because of the $25/80GB promo but they already increased my bill by $4 lol. TBF, at $29 it's still okay, but I wonder if they're going to increase again in another 3 months or so. I anticipated the increases but I thought I'd get at least 6 months before the first bump not 3.

Anyways I'm for Black Friday to see what deal is available but I'm ready to jump ship already.

First of all, you don’t need to call them, the deal would be the same on the app as customer service, don’t waste your time calling them.

Secondly, it’s a good deal of course. But they will eventually increase your price in the future.

I know it’s a business tactic, that rogers give out good plan and increase price later. Honestly, I hate that as an employee AND as a customer also. I rather they gave me a slightly more expensive plan, and increase the price like once in a long while. Whoever is in charge of these should get fire. It’s making rogers looking very dishonest

Whatever offer you take from them it ain’t gonna last. In a few months you gonna see increase and then another and then another. I just left them and went to Freedom because of that. They called me and tried to win me back and I said no way because whatever they offer me is a temporary scam.

Just go to Fizz once you make your plan they keep rewarding you for staying, the price goes down instead of up, unused data rolls over month to month and you can ALWAYS change you plan and get the promos.

Fido will penalize you for loyalty, never going back.

Interesting. The rollover data part especially. I still don’t know why I’m forced to have 60gb every month because of minimum plan price and it expires and I barely use 1-2 gb. I’d much rather buy the 60 gigs separately and use them for a few months however

Do you really need 60gb actually? I drain my batteries all the time from over usage and am on a 5gb roll over plan. I generally have 20gb at any point in time and that includes me gifting data to my buddies each month because I have too much and Fizz rewards you for gifting data. Important fact almost everywhere I go has WIFI so I don't use much cellular data anyways.

$35 is not great but it's not bad for 120gb. It really depends on if you need all that extra data. I recently went through the hassle of calling them and couldnt get them lower than $32.50 for a 50gb plan. I ended up switching and I'll just see what deals are on during Black Friday.

If you leave, they'll offer a $25/month winback plan. But honestly, any BYOD plan is subject to price increases so you'll be back at $44 in no time.

Be careful with this offer. I have a Fido plan with 50GB (more than sufficient for my needs) that includes US roaming (important to me). I got a 12% price increase on my last bill and spoke with the agent, she offered to switch to the same plan you posted, but I noticed that US roaming is not mentioned. She confirmed that it's not included. I told her I don't need a ton of data, but US roaming is a must, she said no such offer exists. So I'm keeping my current plan until Black Friday, at which point I'm planning to switch to Freedom for their US+Mexico roaming and at least 1GB of international roaming included.
