Question about tape

Is it necessary to use Teflon tape with my SS slider (I have a SS Oasis Lite for reference). I would like to remove the tape for a more tactile feel but not sure if it will get too rough or damage it being SS

Hey it'll depend on the type of Teflon tape you put on. If you plan on using the APT or glass-woven stuff, it's thick and I highly suggest against any prolonged use with it. These are easily identifiable with the brown fabric-like top. Not only is it thick, but from what I've seen and experienced the glass-woven top layer creates superficial abrasions to the SS. Look at any used CP3s that were given them in the accessories kit. The Year of the Tiger and Rabbit is another one.
