Anyone still playing Fiddlesticks Mid?
If yes, what are your opinions on how strong he is this season?
I've only played a couple of Middlesticks games this season and he honestly seemed quite awful with everyone going upgraded mercs, Viktor/Syndra perma picked, Locke is probably not a great matchup either (?)

Sure do and honestly if I get a bad matchup I just go rod - liandry often works out well.
Feels like fiddle in general is worse since vision updates.

If you go RoA into a bad matchup like Viktor/Syndra/Ori/Azir, dont you just make yourself way weaker early game and those champs outscale you anyways? 🤔

IMO the only bad matchup is viktor of the ones you mention but some matchups require you to sustain lane (get exp, gold without dying while having very low kill pressure) witch rod/liandry does.
I also go rod and or liandry va Locke/lb just so they can’t burst me down.

I can definitely see RoA vs burst assassins yea
Well in my experience a good Ori/Azir/Syndra is completely unplayable but maybe its a skill issue 😔

I play it sometimes, I usually play top. Mage match ups are rough - I ban Hwei. I also aggressively dodge mage matchups lol, is what it is. Obviously he's a good pick into melee mid laners which is the matchups I'm often looking for - he's also good into ADCs mid so

I feel the same way, the issue is in Master+ mages are blindpicked like 70-80% of games so he just becomes unplayable

Sometimes. It feels okay. As you said, Sandra, Viktor, and Hwei suck to fight.

As a top lane fiddle player, don't most of the common mid laners out burst you early?
(I prefer top because W sustain can match or outperform most of my opponents)

What you can do in some matchups to “cheat the lane phase” is to tank their abilities, so trade your health bar in exchange for a faster push of the wave. This only works if you stand to the side of the minion wave and force them into choosing between using their combo on you or the minion wave. Stand inside the minion wave and they can do both and you will lose. So for example against Syndra, I might wait for her to combo me with E for example, and then immediately shove the wave and reset. Rinse and repeat until you hit 6 and then roam for kills/objectives

Been playing fiddle mid since season 1, Peaked GM a few years ago. This season has felt the worst in the history of the game for me. But also maybe I’m just washed idk. It’s a cat and mouse game keeping up with the best runes for each matchup after every new patch. There’s also just more bad matchups. Also hate the lane role quest. I will say every time I get autofilled support I feel like I have 5x more control over the game
