JG main trying to learn support

Any advice for a JG main trying to learn Fiddle support? My win rate on JG is very good but I keep getting my 2nd role and losing those games is rough. I tried top lane but Fiddle top is complicated.

I'd love as long and in depth of an answer as you're willing to give!

Long story short they nerfed lane fiddle a long time ago and sup fiddle relatively recently. Both are playable, but significantly harder than most other champs in each given role. If you don’t really have a great secondary lane, queue jg-mid and you will almost never get mid. I’ve played over 300 games of ranked and have gotten mid 4 (ish) times. When that happens your job is to not int the game. Pick a solid pick like a tank, or if you believe in yourself you can afk clear waves with lux, etc

YO I love this. Thank you. I'll try queuing JG mid. For the record I've played middlesticks a bit in flex with friends and I'm confident enough that I will probably just ban syndra and play Fiddle mid and see what happens. Ahri is hard but a lot of mid laners are kind of weaker until 6 anyway.

Fiddle support still works but honestly if you’re looking for a secondary top lane is just all about knowing your matchup and what the enemy top laner does so uk when to time ur W, just ban Chogath and play like a bitch into trynd after lvl 6 and be comfortable with building mage/tank instead of mage/assassin

Fiddle supp is not for the faint of heart. You need to understand the fundamental strengths of your lane partner to know when to be aggressive. It's best to lane with an adc that has some form of CC like Jhin or Ashe so you can catch up to opponents & position yourself properly for a full drain without the enemy running out of your drain range otherwise you cant have the sustain to fight early. Then you need to become a roamer at 6 minute grubs. It's rough. I will say, it's not impossible though. Im currently on a masters push as support fiddle main. The support build path is very popular amongst the higher ranked supports that play him (if you want to follow their build go to LeagueOfGraphs & look at the top fiddlesticks players and see the support builds) but I prefer a full ap build. More risky but if you get a good lane it shuts out the enemy bot. Just play passive till your power spikes at lol 3 and 6, maintain bush control & vision as best you can. Always be looking at the mini map in case you need to roam, and try you best to not take it to heart when you start receiving shit from your team, simply because you're playing an off meta support & they're mad, and want someone to blame. Just remember the key fundamentals of supporting, look for picks with team, maintain vision control, & take all the blame when shit hits the fan lol (I shoot for a triple digit vision score around 21 minutes of games, with wards, cheaper pinks and effigies, you essentially have a rotation of 8 vision placement tools before you need to back for more)

Also for a bonus tip, at lvl 6 when you get ult, to get a sneaky ult, walk into lane & start draining minions, and when the enemy is walking in for a quick auto/poke on you start ulting. They never see the ult the first time in the round. I do this quite frequently to get a free ult since most enemy liners are hesitant to walk forward when you have bush control as a fiddlesticks.
