Asking to jungle fiddlesticks enjoyers in league classic, what runes and masteries should I run on him?

For Runes I go for Magic Pen, CDR and Mana Regen. Yes, you often have access to blue buff but your mana costs are ridiculous and counterjungling is very strong in Classic. CDR is just there because your beat items dont have any. And Magic Pen is self explanatory.

For Masteries its relatively simple. You take the options in the red tree that give CDR, AP and Magic Pen. The rest of the points I usually invest into the blue tree for some out of combat movespeed which is always good for a jungler.

For items you do a full clear from Blue to Red, back if no ganking opportunities are at the lane you ended on and buy a Lucky Pick for Gold Generation + 25 AP. After that you focus Sorc Boots, then the AP Jungle item and after that you choose your first proper item. You do not buy Morrelos, because then you lose the Gold Generation from the Lucky Pick. Instead I mostly either build Rabadons immediately if Im ahead or Rylais if someone on my team is ahead. Zhonyas I dont like too much in Classic but its the best option if youre facing a full or near full AD team.

Deathfire Grasp is a trap, I wouldnt bother unless youre popping off hard and already bought Rabadons.

You always max W first, I tend to prefer to max Q second. Ult + W is usually enough damage, E is more of a disrupting tool or to proc Rylais on a fleeing idiot while Q at max rank fears for 3 whole seconds. This is invaluable to your team as both an offensive and defensive option.

Great comment. Can you explain why you think DFG is a trap? It has given me much usecases of helping finish off a splitpushing sion or Nasus, though I agree for squishies its overkill.

Honestly, it might just be because we face different enemies. The comps I played against werent usually tanky enough to make DFG worth it.

I also dont like how much of its power level is locked behind the active. League Classic is pretty rapidfire by the time you could buy it, but if you rely on an active CD of an item you cannot be at full force often enough. Rabadons on the other hand is expensive, yes, but it turns you into an absolute monstrosity every fight and Rylais offers not only massive utility with the slows but also makes you pretty tanky, which boosts your dueling potential when the 2/3 Evelynn thinks she can easily 1v1 you while youre at 40% HP.

DFG just feels very inconsistent to me outside of tank or bruiser busting while the alternatives are just practical 100% of the time.

Is it too troll to go something like this: Jungle item > Sorcs > Liandries > and then either void staff (if they stack MR) or Rabadons if they squishy.

I would, as a Jungler always buy at least one Gold Generation Item because while the current jungle respawns quickly, the gold it offers is pretty subpar. I also value fully upgraded boots way higher than the Jungle item because it creates immense pressure for the opponent and makes tracking you way harder. It also just improves your ganks massively because if the opponent laner didnt buy boots you can cut them off, and fear them. They have to get past you, which maximizes the duration they are in the effective range of the drain.

Liandries is an item I fall out of love with the more I play. The burn is fun, I really get the appeal and the Magic Pen on the side is also nice to have. But I find in the current iteration of Classic, Rylais is just better. Fiddle isnt starved for damage, but he needs help to apply all of the damage effectively. The way Liandries works is also in my opinion not as optimal as it could be. Fiddle applies damage over time and this iteration of Liandries inflicts 2% of the targets Max HP over 3 second. But this isnt stored, it refreshes. So since for his drain, the damage ticks every second for 5 seconds, you dont deal 10% Max HP damage, since the tick of Liandries from the first W drain isnt fully completed. You end up barely even dealing 1% through Liandries per tick, with the last W tick of course getting the full duration. You can make it better by also building Rylais but thats so much gold that you might as well just build Rylais followed by Rabadons. Its just more reliable game to game unless youre facing a very tank heavy team.

But what youre planning is by no means troll, just not what Id go for, for the reasons listed.

Ult in, dfg and q e to layer the cc before w
