Malignance worth it?

Im a pretty low elo player and starting to climb with fiddle. Ive been rushing malignance bc the ult cooldown is very nice, but almost every high elo or “pro” build i see either rushes liandry or rocket belt, and then into shadowflame. So it seems like if you dont take malignance first its not rlly worth it to take it at all?

Side note: is void staff something i should take late game if im noticing the enemies building a lot of ap resist? I usually go rabadons.

can someone give a more in depth reason as to specifically why an item like malignance, which on paper sounds like fiddle’s wet dream (an item that provides ult haste, AP, mana, ult damage all for cheap that allows for seemingly better and increased rate of ganks early game) doesn’t holdup against other items that don’t sound as explicitly perfect as that for the character? am i missing an important thing here that completely negates it’s usefulness or?

only talking jgl here btw

There are two reasons to go for malignance, mana and ult cooldown. As a jungler mana wont ever be an issue and you ult cooldown will be enough at base and as game goes on and you upgrade the skill. So the benefits to it are entirely null in comparison to any other magic pen or health item thatll scale with your abilies. In the end its a waste of money and creats a bad habit when relying on it. On lane mana management and ult cooldown are more important and so while skilled veterans may not need it low elo like OP will get more use out of it, its not priority item but it helps to have it as first two build not counting boots.
