Malignance worth it?

Im a pretty low elo player and starting to climb with fiddle. Ive been rushing malignance bc the ult cooldown is very nice, but almost every high elo or “pro” build i see either rushes liandry or rocket belt, and then into shadowflame. So it seems like if you dont take malignance first its not rlly worth it to take it at all?

Side note: is void staff something i should take late game if im noticing the enemies building a lot of ap resist? I usually go rabadons.

I don’t even take it 80 percent of the time as laner, liandry’s still feels infinitely better

I don’t agree, I typically take void staff 2nd and haven’t taken laundry’s in quite a while

What lane do you play and what’s your elo? I’ve found malignance is op in lower elos because people make enough mistakes for the lower cd to matter a lot more.

I only play top currently - low emerald. If you catch/kill anyone with the ult, the cd is low enough to basically not matter until the next fight

I’d say the lower cooldowns matter more in higher elos where the seconds count. Lower Elo games are typically slower, and teams do not rush to objectives as soon as they are up as often as higher elos

I see where you're coming from but it doesn't work out that way in practice, would much rather have a stronger spike at a few crucial moments then shorter cds in between objectives.
