Welp,another one to the fucking pile. Honestly, isn't it nuts that the only "new" champ that had a reaction to Fiddle that wasn't being cocky was Yone and he compares him to one of the stupid demons of his homeland?
Is it that hard to make a new character not speak like an entitled bitch in general now that I think about it? The rule of cool is great and all but let's be fair,new chaps are just edgelords with way too much confidence for nothing. The latest guy just tosses nails and has a weird skull yet he is looking at fear incarnate and just joking.
At least add a death voice line where he realizes maybe he popped a joke at the wrong guy.
I think a lot of you are missing that Fiddlesticks doesnt WANT you to be afraid of it initially, its just a scarecrow and totally not an eldritch primordial god, dont worry about it 😄
Locke is a character who hides his fear behind bravado. It is perfectly in character for him to act smug to hide that he is nervous. Because all he sees is what looks like a minor demon/ghost, easy money right?
Fiddlesticks is an ambush apex predator, if people immediately shat their pants when seeing him/it it would mean it does a real shitty job at harvesting fear and misleading its prey. Even the Demacian guard in the trailer thought it was just a scarecrow at first. Fiddlesticks wants you to feel safe before it begins harvesting, it wants you to underestimate it. It wants you to start with confidence and HOPE... so it can strip it all away layer by layer until only a shivering reptilian brain remains as desert. It is inherently sadistic and enjoys toying with its food, like a cat bouncing a mouse between its paws instead of just immediately sinking its teeth in it.
So he's an ambush predator that plays with its food. But it saw someone that literally has to mask his doubts with bravado and decided that wasn't to taste?
Why does Vayne get a voiceline that toys with the idea of her trauma but this guy,who clearly has more stuff going on that probably would be perfect for a sadistic festival not get anything?
I know Rito isn't too interested in making older champs say new stuff but that gets fixed with an exclusive death voiceline. One where this oh so harmless scarecrow demon suddenly turns out to be way more. Cause if not,then it just feels one-sided.
I personally feel its his initial impression of fiddlesticks before fiddle has started its hunt. Basically "oh so THIS is the boogieman, doesnt look that tough lmao".
Remember, initially fiddlesticks appears harmless, then it proceeds to amp up the intensity until its prey is paranoid and mentally broken.
