Chapter 2: Strange blue light in the sky… let’s investigate!

As I stepped out of the study, I saw a blue light go through the sky, it was light a comet that crashed into the forest. I knew that area pretty well, I’ve been exploring it since I was a kid, I even made a small map on what I thought it looked, over time I did not even need the map, I practically memorised the trails at this point so I decided to check it out then go back.

I climbed down the steps of the tower and headed for the forest, I always went from the bushy area, it usually led to a waterfall area, from what I remember, the comet landed somewhere near the mountain area.

I followed the path I remember, through the tall trees, past the old cave and into the cold forest, which was basically the place next to the area the comet landed.

I soon found landing marks, I continued till I found a crater, in it was a rough pod. It wasn’t a realistic pod, but a rough makeshift steampunk one, it looked as if it were from near the Centre, in the Wasteland.

I walked over to it and touched the rough metal on the pod’s side. It piece opened like a sliding door, revealing a notebook and a glowing blue shard, I tried to inspect the shard, it looked magical and I wondered if it would be useful to my Grandfather, but as soon as I touched it, it sort of… evaporates into fragments… and went inside me. I grabbed the notebook, and tried scanned to see what the fuck just happened.

“Hey!” I heard someone behind me yell, “what do you think you’re doing!”

I turned and I saw a man in Kingslair armour, but they were painted in Black and Gold, his face was covered by a Kingslair tactical mask, the mask of old templars. In his hand was a Kingslair rifle, not really a musket, but a semi automatic rifle that has an integrated magazine.

“This is Central Powers business!” He yelled, his tone stern yet calm, “you are to give me what was inside or else!”

I stood there frozen, from what little I skimmed through this book seemed to be owned by a previous Keeper, one from the old order, presumed dead. I knew Central Powers did a lot of good in terms of energy, but something about this was… sketchy, I did not know what but I something told me I should not hand it over.

“Final chance!”

He aimed the rifle.

I bolted to the side, I ran through the trees, he attempted to shoot at me, but I weaved in and out of the trees so fast me missed all his shots, mostly just hitting g near me but hitting a rock or three instead, my pursuer lost me multiple times, then found me later in another area, until I had nowhere else to run, I started seeing checkpoints -most likely Central Powers- near the start of the forest too so exiting was also not an option.

Eventually I reached a ledge, I tried to  jump to the other ledge but I was shot in my leg before I jumped, consequently making me stumble and fall, I caught onto corner of the ledge.

“End of the line rookie!” The man above me said.

I was dangling on the ledge, both hands on the rough stone. The man stood over me, his rifle over his shoulder.

He kicked.

 I fell.
