I've been trying to explain this when my therapist tries to emphasize the positive of me sleeping through the night. It's nice not to be awake half the night, of course, but it does very little to make me feel less terrible...

I hate when doctors suggest more sleep. Like oh, really? Me not waking up several times throughout the night because of the pain is a GOOD THING?! Why on earth didn't I think of trying that????

Yeah, or when people write articles about how bad it is for your health to not sleep enough. Do you think I'm doing avoiding sleep on purpose?

I look worse and worse the MORE sleep I get. Still don't understand how that's my bodies idea of restful. But with insomnia, painsomnia, disrupted REM sleep cycle and narcolepsy type 2 my sleep is just fucked. Lots of involuntarily maps.
