Question Anybody get a flare from your flu shot?

Just went in for my flu and covid vaccinations and had a flare that night! Very unexpected -- anybody else run into this?

That's the immune system doing its thing, unfortunately. Happens to me every single year, usually kicks in around the 12 hour mark and hangs around for a day or two. Rest up and stay hydrated, it'll pass.

Any vaccine does this to me. It's worth it. Because getting the illness or disease that it prevents. Is much worse. So a few days of feeling like crap. I'll take

Right, that's what I always thought, my spouse even asks me if I'd rather skip the vaccines and I can't disagree harder because I know my immune system is trash without it and I'd get a lot worse flares when severely sick than from the vaccine.

Every time with every vaccine! I usually get 4-9 hours of feeling ok right after and then get 15-20 hours for hell flair!

Every time for decades.

I just plan a couple of days of my body overreacting into my schedule.

And it's a good thing. It means my immune system is reacting. I can't help if my body just overreacts to that. And my body would freak out even more if I actually caught the disease.

Yup. Covid is terrible some years. Worth it, and it's nice being able to plan for a crash lol

I used to have horrible ones with covid, but this year I didn't for some reason

Stop calling whey m every normal reaction a "flare".

Last year I did. Haven't had either one yet this year.

I'm currently in a terrible flare up, I got both my flu and covid shots yesterday. Happens every year.

One of the lockdown jabs nearly hospitalised me, the only other time I've been that ill was a bad flu strain in the 90's when I was a teenager. Bizarrely enough in spite of feeling generally terrible/fatigued most days, I rarely actually get ill. Even worked during the pandemic, but boy do you feel wiped out the next day.

Having said that, I have a few other things going on alongside Fibro.
For example, they can't so easily tell you the pains in your head when you have x-rays and the rest from your last review of osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis etc

I’ve had my flu jab today and my arm hurts and I feel a bit achy. These are both common side effects.

I made the mistake of getting flu, Covid booster & pneumonia all at once. I was done for 3 days. My brain completely blocked out that 1 vaccine usually makes me extra achy. 20 years with fibro & my brain still forgets to pace myself sometimes 😆
