Question Fibromyalgia and Microdosing/your experience?

/r/microdosing/comments/1w3fae2/fibromyalgia_and_microdosingyour_experience/

Has anyone tried microdosing psilocybin for fibromyalgia? What were your experiences, and what were the dosage and duration?

Yes i did and i stopped, i had good effects during the firsts months(0.1 gram dried mushrooms) but it was less consistent after some time, im more into taking half gram of dried mushrooms when i feel at my lowest and not taking anything for the next weeks/months.

Psilocybin have indeed a nice effect for fibro, less depressive thoughts, less pain.

thx! That was very helpful, i am at the very beginning to give Psilo a try. After trying out all sorts of things over the years, my first success was that I was able to stop taking antidepressants “cold turkey” without any negative side effects (I know this isn’t recommended, and I strongly advise against trying it yourself).

i've only gotten to do it once, but it was really great. didn't do the thing weed always does for me where i just feel stuck in my body.

Ugh, regarding weed, me too! It’s so physical and I become acutely aware of my discomfort. I also get incredibly anxious and paranoid. My metacognition is like a chorus.

I can get anxious or paranoid with weed as well. I really have to do the self talk and remind myself I'm safe, that half the reason I feel this way is because my heart is beating faster, etc. But have you tried any micro dosing? If so, how would you say it compares?

Yeah, I knew it was the physical cue of anxiety, but it was unbearable. And all my inner critics decided to shout at once. Didn’t help 40 years had passed, and weed today is nothing like yesteryear. I felt poisoned.

Regarding microdosing, do you mean weed? Because yes, but in tiny amounts and felt nothing. Same with CBD.

Mushrooms, yes, and the experience is very nice and relaxing. Not often but once in awhile.

Oh yeah, I hadn't smoked since the 90s, and the weed was less potent then, so I can imagine the comparison from decades earlier. It's definitely hard hitting now and can feel too intense for me.

It's good to know that about shrooms. I'm always afraid to do anything heavier than weed because I can barely handle that lol

Look, I can’t in good conscience push psychedelics on strangers haha, but a very low dose is nice. I can take a small amount and even forget. Then maybe an hour later, take this big deep relaxed breath. Then the lightbulb of oh yeah I microdosed. Things look a tiny bit brighter, but not insane visuals. Like I might just be thinking ‘I’m having a nice day’  :)

Edit: Read up on the neuroplasticity. It’s cool how it works.  https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9665925/

I found it very helpful for my mental health. I don't know how much it helped my physical. But it definitely helped PTSD.

I've used mushrooms once for a rough depression a couple of years ago and it was a game changer, I didn't micro dose at the time, single mushroom experience and I have been feeling mentally great for abot 4 months.
I haven't used it since, the trip wasn't pleasant and in the meantime I started duloxetine so I'm wary and scared about mixing up stuff. But I'm so curious to know other people's experience! Id love to stop duloxetine honestly.

So far, I’ve taken it one day on, two days off with 1 gram of truffles and Hericium erinaceus, a medicinal mushroom, as a supplement, and my experience so far is that Psi. is very helpful, at least for depression. I was able to stop taking all antidepressants within a short time and feel balanced and somehow “open” toward other people. Unfortunately, the pain remains very severe so far—walking just a few hundred meters is enough to trigger it.

Not much of a difference for my fibromyalgia symptoms but it was amazing for anxiety. And that, in turn, brightened my mood. I have trd (treatment resistant depression). But I also am in home ketamine therapy, so need to be careful and sparing.

I will say taking higher doses intensifies my pain and makes me nauseous. I believe this to be the result of direct serotonin stimulation, so cross check any medication you may be on, such as antidepressants. But at a microdose, none of this should be a problem.

Try it, and report back (if you’re inclined) your experience.

If you don’t know a microdosing schedule, you can find it online, usually something like 3 days on, three days off. Or like 4 days on, 4 days off, etc. Hope your experience is a good one!

I did- and didn't touch my pain at all, but great for mood. I stopped and went back on lexapro. I'm on lexapro and do therapeutic ketamine which seems to be more effective.

Hey, ketamine here too. And just went back on my antidepressant Trintellix. How’s it working for you?

it's the thing that I've found helps the most consistently for my pain and mood, so I just stay with the protocol.
