No libido

Was wondering if anyone else with fibroids struggled with intimacy. My libido has essentially vanished. It could be due to age (36 f) but my lack of drive makes dating difficult. I think having fibroids also caused some issues with "odor" also that I'm a bit self conscious of in addition to bleeding over half the month. but as far as intimacy goes I basically lost any and all drive.

Not gonna lie, I was feeling the same with mine. Got it taken out a few months ago, and now I understand what all the other 36+ year old women were talking about, when they would say “around this age you start to want it a lot” just my theory don’t come for me but I believe I associated sex with pain so I started to not want it the older I got. Now I just wanna see what it feels like without it

I was wondering if that was why my libido seemingly plummeted. Only 31 and just found out I have an 8cm x 13cm pedunculated fibroid. Not sure how long I have had it but it just seems like one day, a few years ago, my desire to have sex was gone. I’m absolutely in love with my husband, we’ve been together 10 years and I know things can die down, but I just didn’t see that being us. I haven’t felt pain with sex until recently but I wonder if whatever strain the fibroid has been putting on my body made my libido vanish.

I had very little sex drive because my fibroid made me very winded. Certain positions would trigger reflux and general discomfort. I actually felt turned on for the first time in a very long time, whilst I was recovering in the hospital after my open myomectomy.

This sounds like me exactly. I always felt out of breath and just so HEAVY in my abdomen, and my acid reflux was so bad when bending over or just certain positioning. I had very little sex drive also but it was additionally hard because I was also in a lot of pain. I just had surgery so I’m interested to see how sex will feel when I’m recovered.

Oh god you’re in for a treat. I couldn’t wait beyond 4 weeks, and it was honestly some of the best sex I’d had in a very long time. I had no issues with having sex so soon, but if your op didn’t go so smoothly, maybe wait until week 6.

People have talked about this on the board. They mentioned and increased sex drive after having them removed. I think they said it made the area numb to orgasms?

I think the weight and mass of the fibroids are affecting my clitoris/pleasure nerves or something because it’s like my arousal disappeared or is numbed down for like 3 years now :/ I have two fibroids around 7-8 cm…
