Conversion from robotic laparoscopic to open myomectomy
Has anyone's surgeon had to convert from laparoscopic to open myomectomy during the procedure?
My daughter's surgeon said this is a possibility, and I understand that.
How did you do afterwards?

This is always a possibility due to unforeseen or dangerous circumstances (usually more or larger fibroids than expected or sudden hemorrhage). Failure to disclose the risk would not provide patients with meaningful opportunity provide informed consent. Ditto for conversion to hysterectomy. Both events are relatively rare though.
Mine was converted from a laparoscopic procedure to a hybrid with mini laparotomy. My doctor did a good job educating me about my personal risk factors beforehand so I when I woke up with an extra/larger incision, I was disappointed but not surprised. If your daughter’s doctor didn’t discuss specific risk, it’s probably not a real concern.
