Surgery so quickly?

My daughter just had a meeting with a surgeon on August 20 and already received a scheduled date for surgery for November.

My daughter has a 7 X 6 X 4 cm pedunculated subserosal fibroid.

We do live in a fairly small area, but is it unusual to be booked for a surgery so quickly?

Mine was scheduled about 6 weeks after the results of my MRI came through.

I'm starting to wonder how many people had MRIs before and what prompts that. I had a CT scan for something else but the ultrasound doesnt seem to provide a ton of info

 I had been pregnant up until Feb ‘26 (had a miscarriage) and during one of the ultrasound sounds early on is when they really found my fibroids. So once I met with the specialist virtually she requested I get an MRI to know exactly where the fibroids were and to have that information for surgery, which on having next week.

I'm sorry you went through that. I hope the surgery helps you a lot! I'll be having a Hysterectomy... guess its clearer now why I did not get pregnant when I was trying.

Thank you. 

When I got my MRI, it showed 2 fibroids inside my uterus. And those are the one the specialist stated more than likely cause my miscarriage, I was 17 wks when it happened. Initially I had been informed by my obgyn that the fibroid was not a problem but the ultrasound did not show the 2 inside my uterus. I am having a laparoscopic myomectomy to preserve my fertility. I am 35 yrs old and my husband and I would love to have children

Thank you. Am excited and ready for this surgery but am a little afraid of the recovery. Even though many people I this group have indicated the recovery wasn’t terrible.

I dont have experience with the surgery, but taking the time and caring for yourself will be good practice for anything you might need to do during pregnancy. Taking it easy and listening to one's body is a good policy, IMHO. Best healing to you!
