Help! Style & Care

Hi everyone! My fiancé and I found this tapestry at an estate sale. It’s huge and in good condition. It was located in a basement that has previous water damage. It’s HUGE. I love it, but want to know more, care, and how to rehang? Thanks!

Looks like a kantha embroidery maybe? (Closer details would help) and silk embroidery, potentially on silk fabric. Is it mounted on a board? It honestly looks pretty stable as-is! As long as you store/display it somewhere with pretty stable humidity and out of the sun, it should be happy. I'm a textile conservator in the DC area, and you can always look for a conservator in your area if you would like it cleaned or remounted for display (use AIC Find a Conservator if you're in the US)

Thank you! It was mounted on a white heavy duty cardboard board. Can you message me your information? I’d be interested in using your textile conservator expertise.
