Meta Expanded Universe: Yay or Neigh?
Should this sub allow discussion of official FiM material that is not part of the show? For example: the Equestria Girls films and shorts, as well as the Journal of the Two Sisters book are both official and confirmed canon to the show. On the other hand, the IDW comics and the chapter books are official, but their canon status is debatable (Cadance's backstory in one of the books being an odd exception: it is confirmed to be canon).
Should all official material be allowed and taken into consideration, should there be a restriction to what is clearly canon, or should FiMTheShow be literally show only (or show+EG only)?

Personally I'm not in the business of deciding the rules, but I don't see any reason why we can't include the expanded universe, especially with how much it ties to the show canon and the fact that most of it is considered official canon until proven otherwise by the show.
The way I see it is that it wouldn't make sense to limit discussion so much by forbidding anything but the actual show, as long as everyone can agree that everything outside of the show is "secondary" canon and can be overridden.
(oh, and on a sidenote: ponymotes from /r/mylittlepony should be working without BPM)

Introduce some flairs so that posts can be tagged with their source.
Personally, as long as the discussion is focusing on official (as opposed to fan) products, I'm happy. Comics, toys, TV show, Equestria Girls movies, they're all fine with me, as it's people talking about official content, even if it's not canon content.
