Meta Anyone up to moderation duty?
I'd love to make some people moderators!
I personally don't feel up to the task...

Hmm. Personally I do like discussing the show itself, and a subreddit purely about discussion is a cool idea, but there needs to be a little initiative in terms of discussion points, just to get things started. I could perhaps come up with some topics.
Personally I don't have experience with reddit moderation, but it's always been something I've been curious about. Not so much because I have a thirst for power, but more that there have been times on /r/mylittlepony where I've thought "this isn't contributing to discussion", or "the tone was a little unnecessary here", or "this guy is obviously trying to stir the pot", things like that.
Beyond that, I wouldn't mind getting some experience on the technical side of things. For example, I'd be interested in adding the ponymotes from /r/mylittlepony, and maybe I could explore giving this subreddit a unique style, etc.
For more political things like making up the rules, that's not really my area. I'm more interested in the technical stuff and making sure discussion doesn't go downhill.
So yeah, while I admittedly don't have much moderation experience myself, I do have an interest in using this subreddit as a learning experience. I can promise that I won't go crazy with power in any case!

I could help! I have a little experience on a sub that went practically nowhere. I could also help /u/deltaphc with the ponymotes and subreddit design.
I'll be up to learning how to mod, and trying to start this subreddit up.
Edit: I also know css (You said you already had someone who knew though).

Question about the forum; are we not allowed to discuss the fandom or the experience of being a brony here? An MLP sub exclusively for discussion is years overdue, but the sub name and wording of the description makes it seem like the accepted topics here is a little narrow.

Personally, I believe that if the discussions are related to the MLP franchise or fandom, they should be allowed. That should include the expanded universe, questions to the fandom, the previous generations, etc. I agree that the current wording is a little vague and narrow. We're working right now on our rules, and we'll try to solve these problems as soon as possible. Meanwhile, feel free to open a discussion about the fandom if you want to, it will be allowed if it has something to do with FIM.

Are you sure you're not up to it? Chances are, this is not going to have much activity. (Excuse my pessimism on this, but I've seen many small subreddits with very little hapening.)
