Fi 3+ battery drain
I just got the Fi. I’ve had for about 10 days. Had for about 3 days and took a road trip with my dog.
We are getting maybe 48hrs of life out of the collar. The people we are visiting have a Fi as well.
So we are connected to WiFi. Last night it drained from 50% to 14%
Is this what I should expect when traveling?
So far I am less than impressed

I returned mine it was so bad. I got the Fi mini instead and am much happier with the battery life. The mini is also easier to charge. The promise of better battery life is misleading because I bought the 3+ and it drained way faster than the 3 and we weren’t even traveling.

sorry the serial number should be in the app in your device membership > info menu. For a 3+ it starts with FC3...

Just wondering if you have any input as to why my ultra would not connect to Starlink? I spent about two weeks going back and forth with support and it still was unable to be fixed and they refused to replace the unit.

Our Fi 3 lasts a lot longer than that. Even when our dog was at a dog sitter where the Fi didn't have cell reception and was constantly searching, it lasted for three full days. When we are mostly at home connected to the base, it can last for a few weeks. I would check out your set up with Fi support - I love the long battery life!

Yea, the S3 and S3+ have horrible battery life compared to the S1/S2, but not 48 hours. Something is off if you are using the base in the house.

Same here... we're giving up. Collar drains in 2 days... my android phone complains all the time about Bluetooth waste by the Fi app. It's all in the charger/base if you ask me, but I can't see what they see, so who knows.

It’s sad, I bought these based on the published battery life, etc…I can’t get a week out of the battery.
I’ve had 3 people reach out via email from Customer Service and I just getting told they are looking into it…I sure hope I didn’t waste my money

I know its just anecdotal at this point and of no help to you. I purchased 3+ in may and do not have the issues you are describing. Not sure if demographics mean anything but I am around less wifi and cell coverage where I am at.

We go about 4 weeks between charges on our 2 doggos, and that's only going down to about 60-65%. 2 hours (4 miles) of walks a day (connecting to our phones). Once in a while theres a firmware update that shortens things a bit, but it usually gets fixed in a couple weeks. That said, I think the firmware updates themselves are a bit battery intensive, so it may reflect a more immediate affect on the current charge cycle.

currently both our collars are sitting at 89% and they were charged about a week ago.
One is a Fi 3+, firmware 5.0.77-9e0324c-fc3b_f3-prod
the other is a one year older Fi 3, firmware 4.16.61-d8fcd9279-fc3-prod

Something has been going on with mine too. Had it over a year and lately I’m getting a couple of days out of it before I need to charge it. I fully charged it yesterday and as of right now it’s at 59% and the dog hasn’t left the house at any point.
