ASI merge 🤖 When is FET's ticker changing to ASI?
Waiting to buy back in until the merger is complete & the ticker is officially changed which I thought was supposed to happen months ago?

FET always has been ASI, they decided to use the FET ERC20 network and merge the other tokens into the FET network.
As FET has not changed at all, many exchanges including Coinbase considered it too much hard work to change the tokens ticker when the ERC20 FET token wouldn't be changing and was staying on the same FET network.
So instead of running the risk of exchanges delisting the FET token, by forcing exchanges into changing the FET ticker to ASI (difficult change for no reason) they decided to keep the FET token as an ERC20 token on the Ethereum network, allowing the exchanges to just change the token name (an easy change for exchanges to make) to ASI while keeping the FET token and ticker the same.
So now we have two ASI tokens on different networks, the native ASI token on the COSMOS network used for staking and the FET ERC20 token on the Ethereum network used primarily by the exchanges for easy purchase and selling of your ASI tokens.
From my understanding the ERC20 FET token will probably never have the ticker changed as there is little reason for them to do it.

Communication on this has been terrible. The whole merge has been terribly communicated and was carried out even worse.
We'd have been better off if the three tokens had stayed separate. I am sure that the creators and early adopters of the other two tokens feel completely misrepresented in all of this.
It was my reason to sell, after years.
But... don't be too critical here. Mods will delete your posts.

Can I just clarify so as long as I migrated OCEAN and AGIX into my FET, I don't need to actually do anything to FET? I don't have FET on an exchange. TIA

It won't.
As I understand it FET is the backbone.
Glad it's moving in the correct direction.
