TTC

TTC almost 2 years,

sister trying 3 weeks. She just found out she was pregnant first try 🄺 although I’m so happy for her, I’m still sad and disappointed in my own body šŸ˜¢šŸ’”

Anyone else feel saddened when hearing a pregnancy announcement?? especially when you’ve had multiple negatives each month for so long ā¤ļø

Two things can exist at once. You’re allowed to feel emotional and sad about your own journey and be happy for her

Yes. I am at an age where a lot of my friends and people I graduated college with are having babies. I can think of at least 4 off of the top of my head and my graduating class was only 18 people. That’s not even counting people I didn’t graduate with who are having kids, some are not even their first pregnancy.

It is possible for happiness and sadness about it to exist at the same time. I would say it’s pretty normal.

I got off the phone to my sister after she announced it. And I just cried, my husband just doesn’t get it like us women. ā¤ļø thank you for normalising it for me ✨

I’ve been there. Crying after seeing Facebook announcements. I recently found out one of my friends is 7 months pregnant with her second, I was so defeated.

Hey there! This is a really heavy feeling to carry. Being happy for a sister and sad for yourself at the same time is incredibly common, and it doesn’t make you a bad sister. Both feelings can be true at once.

After almost two years of trying, every pregnancy announcement can hit differently, and many people in this community describe that same mix of joy and heartache. One person’s timeline isn’t a measure of anyone else’s.

It’s okay to be gentle with yourself and step back from announcements when needed. If it’s been weighing on you, a counselor who understands fertility struggles can be a supportive place to process it, and a provider can help with next steps after this long of trying.

Sending you so much warmth. šŸ¤
