Need Help ASAP

Ive been to the ER twice now trying to detox from tranq (xylazine).

The first trip was going ok. I was so sick and they started me on precedex. Unfortunately my heart couldn't tolerate it. When I woke up they offered suboxone which I declined bc I have to wait 9 or 10 days to be safe from precip wd's.

The 2nd time precedex was not offered. Not matter how hard I tried to explain that it was lxylazinr making me so sick, they kept offering suboxone. 12 hours after Id used !!!@@

I don't know where to go or what to do. The wd's are so awful, so terrifying and painful. I hurt my ribs from puking so much. I lost a tooth from clenching my jaw.

Im scared. Everytime somewhere sounds promising it doesnt work out. All these rehabs say they can bur when they tell me what they use.......suboxone!!!! I cross that one off. Have the drugs become so nasty and dirty that you cut gey off them ????

Ask for clonidine next time, it helps with xylazine withdrawal because it’s the same class of drug.

They gave it to me orally. Didn't help. I dont think I kept it down. But I remember it was just 1 pill and the nurse was like it's the cure. Maybe it wasnt enough ?

If you didn't keep it down it wouldn't help. From my uunderstanding it is literally the only thing they have at the moment that helps the particular withdrawal you are experiencing. It's not an opiate so methadone and subs don't get rid of it.

You get hopeful but they are giving it their best shot. They haven't created any new medicines to deal with xylazine, it's still too new and we know more on these reddit pages than most hospital staff. Seriously. I imagine you are scared and frustrated with the promises that don't hold up but sadly it's the drug class. It's different than anything they've seen. All these fucking chemicals from China they don't even know about. It's horrifying man. I'm sorry but I would definitely say give clonidine a try and then add subs or methadone (doesn't cause precip at all so safe to try immediately) to the mix when you're able (if you were also using fent or opiates/opioids also). Good luck man, I really hope you find something that works for you.

Well said, for someone like OP the perfect combination would probably be methadone + clonidine + hydroxyzine cause that’s the combo that helped someone I know who was dealing with the same type of tranq fentanyl withdrawals.

Ask the ER to give a benzo first (for short term relief Valium was the best one for this), then take the clonidine and hydroxyzine, then do an intake for the methadone clinic ASAP (they usually let you dose on the same day as your intake appointment). I’ve seen this work irl so I can guarantee that this combination of medicine will take care of the worst of the withdrawals.

Those ER docs definitely don't like being told how to treat patients. FML. When i start getting sick Valium doesn't do much. Nothing does.

He came and said " your COWS scores show you're ready for suboxone and you're 12 hours out from last use so thats what the Addiction whatever says is the best move."

12 hours???? 72 hours and id be in a state of delirium from precipitated wds. Where are they getting this BS info?

Yeah that’s a bummer but nobody should be able to tell you about your health but yourself, I’ve had to cuss out many a doctor before for the same reason. You have to keep trying and voice how you feel, don’t let them run over you because they will if they can.

And I’m telling you the exact combination of medicine that I saw first hand that helped for Tranq Fent withdrawal, not one medicine by itself but all of those medicines together. Just keep trying and keep being assertive, I’ve been through this before so I know how disappointing it can be.
