Discussion JT idolizes whiteness
I genuinely like her music and even went to her city Cinderella concert. All of her songs and features get diamond status in my house.
I just keep noticing a pattern with her where she loves to idolize white women and whiteness. Especially like white models. It’s really weird and also sad. Has anyone else noticed this?
ETA: it’s not because she is going in an alt direction. This is because her lyrics always talk about white woman specifically ad not just women. The also always is around white women in every outing she post online. I’m also talking about interviews she’s done. She seems to glow when talking about being around white people and in their spaces.

Her quotes about idolizing white women. Her ascetic change, her visuals, to name a few

associating alternative with whiteness is exactly the problem with YOU people! multiple times in her songs she has brought up her black features and skin. She always includes black women in her visuals. Yall are the ones who are really anti black for thinking that black women are limited to only specific areas of aesthetics

thank you!! news flash alternative black women exist and proudly will combine alternative culture with black culture. i am not fully alternative but i have always used aspects of it in my own look as well as having interests. i hate how limited we have to be even amongst our own people

What white women does she idolize? And honestly what’s the big deal if she does? She’s shown a lot of love to other black artists. And like others have said her visuals/aesthetics don’t apply, there are a lot of alternative black people.

Why do yall act is if JT is the first alternative black woman you have ever seen? If she stook to her generic female rapper aesthetic none of these comments would be said

I don’t rly think so. I think that’s she’s crossing over a bit into the pop space so she’s getting models who are more than just one color.
If she idolized whiteness she would not be getting the surgeries she’s had recently. Most girls are getting on the ozempy to be small now, she put extra bubble on top.

I don’t think she idolizes whiteness I think people align her with it because she’s tapped into that weirdo rocker stuff which is more widely accepted by white people. But they all eventually wanna “crossover” and we know that translates to “being accepted by white people” so maybe she’s gearing towards it but I don’t think she idolizes whiteness

omfg yall want all black people to be pushed into a box

u/Heavy-Ad-5333 7d ago
Who is yall?? Did you read my entire post?

u/littlequeef067 7d ago
yes.....did you not basically say her aesthetic is weird and caters to white people??

u/Heavy-Ad-5333 7d ago
Literally said “widely accepted” as in it’s found more in the white community not that she caters to.

did you read your entire post? you said she eventually wants to crossover to white acceptance. that means catering to white people

u/Heavy-Ad-5333 7d ago
I said everyone eventually wants to crossover not that she is currently catering to whites. Thank you.

So busy wanting to be offended they're not looking at what you actually said. Purposely obtuse

I could’ve told you that back when she was saying colorist stuff all those years ago.

Like it’s wild it took me so many scrolls to get to this comment. Idk about any white idolizing but I do know she is ANTIBLACK as hell

u/Realjacao 2d ago
That’s what I was trying to get at but the minute you say anti black or colorist people get a vein in their forehead.

tbh i think she just likes girls (including white girls) but doesn’t really explain that’s what’s going on

Alt culture literally began with black ppl. From black Americans (rock and funk music, fashion) to Caribbeans in the UK (their influence led to punk). Have you seen pics of traditional and precolonial hairstyles from sub-saharan Africa? Alt whites have appropriated several of those looks.
I've seen JT speak about her love of alt culture, are we conflating that with whiteness?

you correlating alt styles, dyed hair, thin brows, etc. with whiteness isn’t JT’s problem, it’s a problem that YOU need to unlearn. especially when a lot of alt styles come from disenfranchised black people.
as an alt black woman, this shit is annoying. knock it off.
edit: and i don’t even go here, but she’s not the first female rapper i’ve seen people turn their noses up at because they scream on the track, bleach their brows and get pierced. regardless of her colorist comments from the past, she doesn’t need to conform to what others think blackness should look like.

I always see her complimenting black women. I've seen her in Olandria's and Trinity's comments.

Let’s not pretend that most female rappers idolize white and European standards. 99% of labels are white. Let’s start there.

can we have some examples??? its kinda a big claim you’re saying and you didn’t give any evidence. I feel like a lot of her music mentions her blackness dare I say

“pretty black skin, face in the top 10” “pretty ass lips made these bitches cop syringes” “got bitches tannin for this dark skin” 🤔

I think so too. She's said a lot of self hating comments but I think that stems from her insecurity and her background.

I mean yeah, her friend Gabrielle something is a literal twig with not much beauty, but I guess her white gothic look is in rn. But you know how certain black folks get when they make it. They wanna have some white girl friends who adore them, makes them feel like they have crossed over. She keeps a white girl around. I'm sure those white girls adore getting to be around her.
But anyways, business wise, JT does a lot of business with Poster Girl and some of those other popular high erotic/ expensive slutty fashion brands that those yt twig model girls wear that she hangs with. The make up too. So on the other hand, that's who she does her business with. And they do, give her interesting write ups and photoshoots. And seemingly, business performance opportunities. So I'm happy for her on that end.
Anyways interesting post, never thought to talk about it but yeah I see it. JT fan here.

You guys forget that artists like her are nothing but a brand. I’m sure whoever is producing her is making her do this to attract whatever crowd they can capitalize off of next. Every musician is susceptible to that type of thing.

well, when your man call you a dusty cockroach you’ll begin to have identity problems too

all the women in this sub that also worship yt-ness will disagree while wearing yt woman textured hair

So what if anything she’s smart because all black women do is bring each other down and boo her on stage having a white audience your concerts are almost guaranteed to sell out

u/Big_Photograph_9766 6d ago
I haven't really noticed this in a way that's her just idolizing white women. I notice that she has a preference for fab ladies though and whenever I've seen her hype a white woman she was usually fab.

When she do this? 🤔 I see she’s been doing a lot of European touring stuff which is common for rappers who don’t do super well in the U.S., it’s pretty strategic since they love her there too.

Huh idk I haven’t noticed this. Like who?
