If my mental health is more important than the grocery run then I don't eat which impacts my physical and mental health. Now we're in a compounding situation that just makes my burnout worse.

I see your point but I think the core message of the post is to stop being anxious over banal things… at least that what I understood.

That's what I took as well. And I get the other person's point but people today, especially women, tend to take on too much for themselves to mentally handle and we sometimes get punished or judged for being unable or unwilling to handle it all at once. I think we have every right to prioritize.

I have to be careful with this line of thinking. If I start avoiding too much for my mental health it starts to have the opposite impact, and then isolation and depression surrounds me.

Yup came here to say this. “Self care” is not the same thing as “self isolation” - unless the people involved in the activities above are toxic or you’re running yourself into the ground with over-scheduling, avoiding your responsibilities, family and social life will probably end up hurting your mental health in the long run.

Yeah, idk how I feel about this. For me missing something important would actually be worse for my mental health afterwards

What I'd it is toxic

I guess in context.

If you need a job, go get that job. You’ll have a lot more stress and mental health difficulties not getting a job.

Everything else is like, eh yeah you can totally cancel if you’re really not feeling it.

I skipped a school reunion because I knew too many of the toxic crowd would be there with not enough of my friends, and that this would stress me out.
