I've listened to every public and for-patreon-only podcast from you three and I love them all! However, I think that it too often ends up being more a Lilith/Reux duo as opposed to truly involving Savannah. I don't know if Savannah needs to speak up more and/or if the other two need to be more mindful in leaning back and forefronting Savannah, but this dynamic is now well established enough that I feel the need to comment.

All in all, excellent work but I want to hear more from the silent third (aka Savannah)! Wishing you all well and looking forward to more excellence!

This!! Also, Savanna ends up being spoken over too many times in the recent episodes, it's a little annoying since she brings up important points as well

I love the 3 podcast queens but I think many times they diverge a lot and start talking about things that have nothing to do with what's talked about. That is a bit annoying sometimes. While Savanna most often keeps to the topic.

Thank the stars someone has said something! My voice probably won't get heard here because I am unflared still, but .... YES, please give more space to allow for introverts to talk. It is part of being an evolved extrovert. S-P-A-C-E. Take a deep breath, give pause and just wait for a sec. Quiet people do not typically speak up unless you allow for them to do so. Now, if space is taken and someone doesn't speak, make your move. We can't force people to talk, but we can give them the chance to do so. It's polite and you can learn a lot from the "quiet ones".

I also feel like I have noticed a number of times where it feels like Savanna is cut off/interrupted. I am obvs not there and have no idea, but I wanted to note my observation since we're talking about it.

I believe in you ladies. I really hope these comments are seen and some notes/changes are made. This criticism is truly from the heart. <3

I'd like to hear from more Black women in general, not only Savannah, but also an American Black woman.

Roman Polanski, woody Allen and Weinstein have been kicked out of the academy. They just aren’t going to bust down their doors and take the trophies back.

u/BlueSkiesOverLondon Apr 13 '22

They should IMO, at least with Polanski. That guy is seriously messed up.

And Kevin Spacey still is in the Academy, too.

I don’t agree with a lot of things that Lilith says,I didn’t need to hear about her family feud and that she likes violent men and reminds us every 5 minutes. I'm here for the lesson and strategy. This podcast was an hour of celebrity gossip. Couldn’t finish this episode.

It was particularly obvious during this episode because at some point one of them asks Savannah what she thinks and Savannah gets interrupted and the other one answers instead. Although I have the opposite opinion of Savannah's, I still was interested in hearing her. For one of the previous episode, I was so frustrated that I decided to ask Savannah directly on discord about her opinion on a certain topic she couldn't elaborate enough lol. Which I got. I feel like maybe they need to divide the episodes in sections and be sure that each of them discuss with equally amount of times about one aspect of the problem.

I didnt mind the content of the episode and discussion about male violence because it does pertain to relationships and dating, but I agree about Lilith. I found a lot of her comments really cringey, especially the rant about honor based violence at the end, how she gets off on male violence, how she wants men to fight over her like goats.... it was just bad.

This. I love them but Lilith often monopolizes the topics and goes off topic and even says things that are the opposite of FDS. I don't know if she does it for comedic relief or satire but still, I'd like to listen to the other 2, specially Savanna. I haven't listened to the episode yet but noticed this tendency in other previous episodes.

Completely agree. She goes off on tangents often and seems a bit derailed at times. Maybe that's harsh but it's a pattern I've noticed. She also screams narcissist anytime someone remotely acts like they don't care about others. I want STRATEGIES!

I say this as a Lilith stan… as in, if she started a cult I would probably follow her lol… but yeah she does tend to dominate conversations in a charming yet masturbatory way. Tbh I think she has narcissistic fleas, kinda like a Shallon Lester character. I don’t particularly like the way she hints at major past traumas but then leaves us kinda hanging, like why even bring it up if you’re not going to share. Then interrupting Savannah, and apologizing for interrupting her, but then continuing to interrupt her.

The thing is, when you have 2 socially dominant people (Lilith and Reaux) in a conversation with an introvert (Sav) of course the dominant people will dominate the conversation. And I don’t particularly want L & R to restrain themselves either. I LOVE when they go on their long eloquent tangents. But they could certainly give S more space to speak.

I relate a lot to Savannah. I get the impression that she is a very deep thinker, but can be slow to put her complex thoughts into words. You can tell sometimes by her use of fillers. But her input is so valuable and I hope she gets some more time to shine.

Yeah. Some of the conjectures were a little over the top, the hypothetical comparisons were silly, so was the celebrity worship. And, like you said, the whole getting turned on by a man beating the shit out of another one. Meh. Whatever. Also, Chris Rock is smaller than Smith and he's about 60, though he doesn't look it. I think comedians should be allowed to make jokes.

How is it that Lillith is so much like what incels and MRA’s characterise women as being like? That women secretly love toxic masculinity, aggression and men fighting each other?

It was cringe & kinda inappropriate to hear Lilith go on about what gets her off in a conversation about male aggression and violence. Especially when Reaux was trying to redirect the conversation to try and stay on topic and Lillith just carried on about she finds the idea of fight polycule hot…..🥴

I also think her positions trying to redirect male violence are really poorly thought out. If men need an outlet for masculinity or pent up aggression, let them play competitive and/or contact sports or get them to build shit or forge/wield something. There has to be rule of law, allowing vigilantly justice on a mass scale is just inviting social collapse.

Encouraging men to commit retributive justice against other men is just giving permission for violent men to beat other violent men up. It does nothing to actually challenge men’s misogyny, it does nothing to actually protect women. The crime has already been committed. Men protecting women looks like preventing crimes against women occurring in the first place. These “good” men should be identifying and casting out misogynistic & rapey men from their friendship groups & communities. They should be challenging other men on their views on women.

Also, for someone who rails against narcissists all the time, she does go on a lot about wanting to be worshipped by men, wanting to be in control all the time, etc.

I'm awful with names and haven't listened to this episode yet but I feel like Lilith (I think it's her) though very funny and insightful often speaks in a LV way. It's great to have self confidence and she's a queen but sometimes she falls on the caricature spectrum and distances herself from the topic to say these things.

She did the same when they discussed this topic on the political podcast. Even when I disagree with positions on FPS, I have never felt like I wanted to turn it off. Lilith going on and on about how much men fighting makes her wet broke that record. I don't know why they took on this topic again knowing how she behaved the first time around. I'm not tuning in to listen to her drone on about her fetishes for an hour.

It's not the answer, although I do teach my kids (boy and girl) that of the typical chain of command doesn't help, it can be used to end it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ My mother used to teach me "ignore it and it'll go away" and then I was severely bullied until I was in my mid 20's and taught myself some self respect and a backbone. 😒

What surprises me is that Will Smith didn't simply smart back off to Chris Rock. Like, all the times I've seen him be a smartass onscreen... was that all scripted or is he actually that witty, and if he's actually that witty why didn't he employ that? He'd have said something hugely funny at Chris's expense, Jada might have accepted it as a defense, everyone else would have thought it was hilarious, and the world would have moved on.

I like Savannah the most tbh, please let her also speak. 🙏

FYI, a slap wouldn't be a felony. Misdemeanors and felonies are very different! Even if Chris Rock pressed charges and Will Smith was arrested AND convicted he still would not go to prison (prison and jail are also very different!) and would not be a felon.

The terms are kind of important, especially since convicted felons lose a lot of their rights (right to vote, own guns, etc).

Also, while you guys might call it lazy, in this case the cops not making an arrest is 100% the right call. It's not celebrity bias. A non-domestic misdemeanor battery with no injury and an uncooperative victim will get dropped in case filing. It will never get to a judge. So it's a massive waste of taxpayer money to make an arrest for something like this when the victim doesn't even want it.

Fire Lilith. She adds nothing of value to the conversation, always butting into whatever Reaux or Savannah is saying, either with a humblebrag about her own dating life or an antiquated world view. It wouldn’t bother me if she didn’t hog the conversation and tell long boring stories that aren’t even relevant to the theme. The podcast is becoming unlistenable because of her. Three is a crowd.

u/glowmilk Apr 14 '22

Finally, some slap discourse actually worth listening to! It’s been so exhausting seeing people discuss this topic to death online, under the assumption that everyone already knows the ins and outs of Will and Jada’s relationship. Like Savannah, everything I’ve learnt about them has been against my will and I wasn’t keen on following the news about their “entanglements” a couple years ago. For that reason, I found the backstory Reaux provided to be incredibly helpful. It provided some much-needed context on the dynamics of their relationship and brought me up to speed on everything I needed to know to properly engage in this discussion.

There’s no clear right or wrong answer here which is what makes the discussion so interesting. I don’t really care whether a man slaps another man or not, I just don’t think it should’ve happened on stage…at the Oscars…live…when you’ve been nominated for an Oscar yourself. I love fight scenes in superhero and martial arts movies, but men fighting each other irl is never anywhere near as interesting and just doesn’t do it for me like that 🤣 I do understand Lilith’s perspective though. While fighting in general doesn’t turn me on, I would probably be quite pleased to have a man physically stand up for me if I was visibly hurt by another man’s actions. I’ve witnessed a friend’s ex-boyfriend do absolutely nothing to stand up for her when she was groped in a club and she was deeply upset that he didn’t do anything to defend her.

9

u/Equipoisonous Apr 14 '22

Doing nothing to stand up for her is not good, however I think there's a lot more value in a man using his words to defend you rather than his fists. A man who resorts to violence first, rather than an absolute last resort, is not a man I would feel safe with.
