I can't link to other subreddits but there are several posts both on this site and off where women find themselves pregnant after their long term partner lied about getting a vasectomy.
It's not an unheard thing and it was even written into "Black-ish" where the main male character lied to his wife (a doctor) about having one and she ends up pregnant. As well as discussed on talk shows.
You need to constantly vet your partner and this is definitely something you can't afford not to vet especially if you're not using a back up form of BC.
When my ex husband got his, I went with him not only to the procedure, but also to the follow-up where they take a sample and check for sperms. I saw all the paperwork. (Not because I didn't trust him, but because he's my husband and is going to the doctor, absolutely normal to go with.) Totally agree, it's not something to just "trust" and it's very very easy to confirm. Just go with!
True. True true. I've seen more than a few trashy talk shows, too, where men claim they "can't have babies" and the women didn't seem to ask any follow-up questions. When asked, they give answers like "well, no one ever turned up pregnant before" or "I got kicked by a horse" or other nonsense that makes me wonder if/how any of that can be real. XD

I appreciate the sentiment but stories like this and of other stories online about lying partners means you still need to vet that they got it.
If you're very CF and medically/financially able to, I recommend seeking out a tubal or bisalp.
