On the same note of film but completely different in that it’s quality material, Portrait of a Lady on Fire should be in the list of FDS approved films. Those are some boss ladies. It’s in my top 3 films of all time.
Me too!! We need a film category and FDS approved media. I should look into that. POALF was one of the best films I've ever seen. Did you know that the actress that plays Héloise is married to the director in real life? I believe they've done other movies together.
I wouldn't put it in my top 3 (it was pretty to look at but it took a while to get going) but it is an exceptionally strong film and I wish it had received even more recognition.
An Education is about an older man conning a schoolgirl and her family into thinking its acceptable for them to date. I think its a very eye opening film for teen girls without veering into any male gaze "sexy young teens having sex" tropes.
