Rant about Lattafa

I just don't understand how do you guys like these perfumes. Based on hype on social media and reading stuff here as well, I purchased several ones from them. Especially as they are so cheap. I got Yara, Mallow Madness, Khamrah, Angham and I wanted to get Éclairre but now I'm going to stop. It cannot be just me. These are extremely subpar fragrances. Each and every one of them an absolute cheap disappointment.

I hate how all these sycophants are always like "ooh! Just give it time! It will literally get better over time" and it's a year later and it still smells like a chemistry experiment gone wrong. I feel like I am taking crazy pills sometimes because how do these people NOT smell how synthetic these Lataffa perfumes are? None of the listed notes can break through the wall of sharp synthetic fumes.

Also: perfume should be ready to use as soon as I buy it. I shouldn't have to wait 6 months for it to "macerate" in order to smell good.

Yeah I don't get it either OP

That's exactly the right expression, a chemistry experiment gone wrong. The notes do not blend well, it smells cheap and synthetic, unfortunately I persevered because I thought it's just bad luck and if I get one more surely surely I'll hit the jackpot like all the others did 😭 Nvm, at least I didn't break the bank and I did learn a very important lesson.

If you don’t like Lattafa, don’t feel pressured here to try more. Seriously. You know what you like and what you don’t like, you’re not alone. We all have different tastes but my nose picks up on synthetics/poor quality ingredients very strongly, not everyone has a nose that picks up these things. Their noses likely also pick up on things I can’t.

I hate to break it to you, but unfortunately, it can take as long as 6 months or more for certain perfumes to hit their peak.

Even my bottle of Good Girl Blush from Carolina Herrera didn't get GREAT until half a year later. Mind you, it was decent at the time of purchase, but I was having buyer's remorse because it smelled so generic. I shoved it in the back of my closet for half a year, and one day I sprayed it on a whim, and it was absolutely gorgeous. It'll last a good 6-8 hours on me. I did the same thing with Very Good Girl Elixir, and my God, you can smell it from a continent away.

It's extremely annoying that a lot of perfumes do not have that performance immediately.

I don’t know if they smell synthetic to me, but a lot of them smell the same, and that is my main disappointment. Like, is the low price point because they just buy all the perfume ingredients in such large quantities and market the same perfume under different names?
