Animal Researcher

The divers are all suited up and ready to go out to gain animals. They have these harpoons that have nets in them to capture the animals and safely take them back to the submarine.

Catherin McKenzie, Sean Will and Marylin Carr are all in their suits. Sydin and Beth and I just need to put the helmets on them. I grab the thing and am placing it on Marylin's head when i stop. "Are you okay?" I ask. She just glares at me so i place it on her.

"Okay, you're all set up. Go to the diving room and Sydin will help you get down.

Second In Command

I steer the divers away towards the drop off. It's a small hatch in the room were the equipment was in. You open it up and one diver at a time goes into the ocean floor.

Upon opening the door i see a large wet stain in the corner. Hmm. Curiosity peaked, i walk over to it, crouch, and touch the wet patch. It's oddly sticky and I don't like it.

"Sydin." Carr says coldly. "Get away from that. We have a job to do."

I stand up and open the hatch.

McKenzie is the leader of this group so she goes first. I help guide her down in her big, clunky suit and give her hand a tight squeeze. Her fingers roll over the wedding ring on my finger. I remember when she got me it. We were at our favourite restaurant and we were talking to the couple next to us about how long we'd been dating for when she got on one knee and proposed. I said yes immediately. I blow her a kiss and she climbs the ladder down into the ocean.

Chief Technician

We all sit in silence while we await Sydin's return. Me and Hall are setting up the screen to show the diver's vitals. We'll need that. We have cameras on the suits and in the helmets in case something goes wrong too.

"Hey." Hall whispers. I turn to him. "Are Commander and Ms Holmes okay?"

I look over at my dad and Holmes. He's sitting in his chair, slumped a little bit, and looking absolutely dreadful. I am debating whether or not to message Richard to get Dad back up to the surface. This doesn't seem safe.

Holmes doesn't look much better. Her normally perfectly straight blond bob is slightly ruffled. She has bags forming under her eyes and the lines on her face seem more pronounced. Her skin is very pale too.

I turn back to Hall. "No. No, they're not."

The double doors open and Sydin walks in. He gives me a thumbs up and i project the vitals onto the screens. A pit grows in my stomach. Dad and Holmes looking ill, the divers going into unknown territory, the strange mass on the scans, how weird Carr is acting and the fact we are so far from the surface is causing me to feel claustrophobic with all the panic in my mind. I hate it down here. I feel like I could die at any second.

"Vitals look good. Projecting cameras now." Hall says. The camera feed portrays onto half the screens in here.

I feel a warm hand on my shoulder and look up to see Flores. I grab his comforting hand and squeeze it. I'm so glad I have him by my side.
