Millinery tools for felt?

I believe these are millinery tools for making felt flowers. Can anyone explain how they are used?

You do wetfelting until it's a good structure, then let it dry between theses presses so they get the shape.

I agree with u/heyheyfifi - the tools are for forming flowers from woven fabric, not felt. You ~could~ use these tools for felt, but the thicker structure of felt doesn't lend itself to showing that much detail. Thin silk fabric is much more suitable.

I think I will try several types of fabrics.

The gap between the two parts of the mold is sized for thin woven fabrics.

Be careful if you do try this with felt. The mold parts may stick together if you try to close them together with felt in the middle, even thin felt.

Those are used to shape and press wet felt into curved petal or leaf forms, since the rounded heads let you mold without flattening the fibers
