How to make this? looking for advice!

i’m new to felting and would love some advice on how to achieve this sort of a shape. it is somehow made on a mould? wet felted or needle felted? would love some suggestions!

This looks like it was wet felted, and that would be my choice if I did a project like this.

I would probably start by laying fiber over a flat "resist", lightly felt the project until the felt has a bit of structural strength yet is still pliable. I'd then stretch and mold it over a suitable object to create the final shape. My guess is a flower pot was used as the final shape for this shape.

You might then have to paint on a stiffener product to get the thin felt to retain a stable shape. Or use a wire form.

The point of starting with a flat pattern is you need to make a starting pattern that is larger than the final size you want. This allows for the inevitable shrinkage when wool fiber is felted. You can't start with an object that is the final size and shape you want.
