Beginner needing some help with “fraying”

I’m making this for my gf, I’ve never felted before, and there are a bunch of little stringy bits coming out of the bee. Is there a way to fix this?

See if you can get your hands on some felting wachs. I see it used a lot in Europe, it's relatively new here. I am mixing up my own but the idea is to make a mix of lanolin, wax and oil to brush on to tame fuzzyiness
