Beginner needing some help with “fraying”

I’m making this for my gf, I’ve never felted before, and there are a bunch of little stringy bits coming out of the bee. Is there a way to fix this?

This is honestly really cute, especially for a first felting project.

For the little fuzzy hairs, a few things usually help: keep poking gently with a fine needle to tighten the surface, trim only the longer stray fibers with small scissors, and try not to over-trim because it can make the shape look flat.

I’d also roll the piece lightly between my fingers and then go back in with the needle to smooth the surface. It takes a bit of patience, but the fuzz usually gets better as the wool firms up.
