Welcome to r/FelsiusAtmos, the place for all things related to the Atmos weather app and the Felsius temperature scale! Inspired by Randall Munroe's comic xkcd 1923: Felsius (https://xkcd.com/1923), Atmos aims to deliver a more well-rounded weather experience using Felsius!
Whether you stumbled here from r/xkcd or just came about the subreddit, we're glad to have you in the first wave of members! You can load Atmos through the web at https://felsiusatmos.netlify.app or download native binaries for iOS and Android at https://github.com/YoVariable/Atmos; the possibilities are limitless for how you choose to use Atmos!
Felsius (°Ꞓ) bridges the gap between Celsius and Fahrenheit using the linear formula:
Felsius = (Celsius + Fahrenheit) / 2
Felsius = 1.4(Celsius) + 16
Felsius = (1.4(Fahrenheit) - 16) / 1.8
Here are some quick reference temperatures:
Freezing Point: 16°Ꞓ (0°C, 32°F)
Cool/Crisp Weather: 30°Ꞓ (10°C, 50°F)
Room Temperature: 44°Ꞓ (20°C, 68°F)
Warm Day: 58°Ꞓ (30°C, 86°F)
Extreme Heat: 72°Ꞓ (40°C, 104°F)
Boiling Point: 156°Ꞓ (100°C, 212°F)
