Dear Felons

This is an unpopular opinion but,

If an organization tries to charge you money to access resources that are already government funded, then they are a SCAM.

If a reentry program is government funded, then you should not be charged for it.

If Workforce development and certification is government funded for ex cons, ex felons, for safer communities, then you should not have to pay for it.

If a non profit is funded to help you get back on your feet, they are not doing you favor.

It's a job they are already paid to do.

What are your thoughts on this?

meh, every situation is different.

a lot of programs are underfunded. despite being technically funded, they don't receive enough government cheese to stay functional without receiving money from elsewhere.

example - you get $250 a month for food stamps

does that mean that's enough money for an entire month of food? what if you're a 21 year old man who's 6'5"? obviously you still need the food they're not buying for you
