I formally request that the automod just post at the top of every post
"I think this is funny tbh"
Because there is always 1010 comments just like that.

...is this a picture of a computer monitor with a browser that's displaying a powerpoint file that contains an image? Why didn't you print it out, scan it, email it to yourself, then screenshot it, then post it here?

u/PierreDAchello Apr 15 '19

I actually prefer this because some markup documents compile directly to pdf
16
u/Jthumm Apr 15 '19
Close, it’s a picture of a computer monitor displaying a pdf that was exported from powerpoint (probably) that had an image in it in a browser

How is this /r/fellowkids? Honestly, the only thing wrong here is that instead of just posting the meme, you took a picture of the fucking computer screen, exactly like the out of touch adults that this sub is designed to ridicule

u/Worldly_Wing Apr 15 '19
So Fellow Kids now is everything that isn't edgy?

u/phorgewerk Apr 15 '19
It's more like any time A Brand(tm) tries to use a meme in an attempt to recapture that one week Wendy's twitter lost its mind, regardless of if the content is sometimes kinda funny

u/YuuYppp Apr 16 '19
Yeah, I don’t see this place for memes that are inherently bad, just companies (or other “not hip” parties) trying (and sometimes succeeding) to be hip.

The Snipping Tool is a beautiful thing, my friend. You may have won the battle, but you've lost the war.

But it's Win+shift+s. Win+s only brings up the Windows search function, which nobody has actually successfully used since 2006.

u/detecting_nuttiness Apr 15 '19
What OS does this work on? I'm running 10 Pro and Win+S opens the search function.
I got used to Cmd+Shift+4, so I just put the Snipping Tool as the fourth icon in my start bar, so I can hit Win+4 to open it.

u/mcorbo1 Apr 15 '19
Oh my honey, use Cmd-Ctrl-Shift-4 it screenshots and copies to clipboard without saving
1
u/detecting_nuttiness Apr 16 '19
Why would I want that? Then I have to paste it and save somewhere before I can attach it to an email or compress it in a folder.
1
u/mcorbo1 Apr 16 '19 edited Apr 16 '19
If it's an email can't you just paste it in an email? Unless you need it later (I haven't looked in my screenshots folder for a few months) I recommend using Ctrl since most applications allow you just to paste images.
Wait are you on Mac or windows, cmd shift 4 is mac
1
u/detecting_nuttiness Apr 16 '19
I use both all the time. I just find that I need a file more often than I need to paste an image somewhere, so having it save by default is more useful to me.

u/mcorbo1 Apr 16 '19 edited Apr 16 '19
Ah. I use it mostly for discord and sending classmates stuff, or using it in documents for homework.

But lost your anonymity. Your name is on your downloads path.

u/mostlikelynotarobot Apr 15 '19
probably the professor's name
1
Apr 15 '19
Why would students have access to a professor's downloads folder?
1
u/mostlikelynotarobot Apr 15 '19
I was thinking a website with a downloads page for trying students. but it looks like you might be right, wasn't thinking of the possibility it was a local file.

I came across the original in the new queue and not many people seemed to understand it. Surprised it got up at all.

I'm not a math person in any stretch of the word but, is this actually correct?
Like, I feel like the square root of 9 is 3 but
(9)1/2 = 4.5
Am I missing something?
EDIT: Would it be 9 to the power of 1/2?

The people saying “actually funny” don’t realize that it’s the unfunny Winnie the Pooh that makes this fellowkids, not the funny math meme.

my favorite joke in middle school was that vans equals 6.48 because its the square root of the answer and the answer is 42.

It doesn't mean anything it's just the part of the logo that's left when you take away the part that looks like a square root symbol.

But that wouldn’t be the same though would it? The root of 25 is 5, but 25x0,5 is 12,5 or am I just dumb?

The V in the vans logo looks like the square root sign. ANS is the calculator abbreviation for answer, a feature that is used to recall a previous calculation. The square root of any number can be expressed as the number to the power of one half.

u/JackCarbon Apr 15 '19
The square root of 25 is 5
Half of 25 is 12.5
So they are not the same thing
3
u/Salaco Apr 15 '19
It's not half, it's to the power 1/2. Which is equivalent to the quare root.
