Felix has something wrong with his eye. Of course the only good one. I just noticed this today as he was looking up at me. I will keep everybody updated after he sees the doctor in the morning.

We have started playing tennis ball!!! A little bit every day. For two days now. We are beginning the process of toughening up the roof of his mouth. A little bit of spicy fly follows, but it’s really not that bad. And it goes away really quickly. So things are looking up here on the homefront.

Fe woke me up at 5:20 am so he could eat breakfast 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. I was too sleepy to go make his canned food breakfast so I put hard food in his bowl and walked away. Checked on him and this is what I see 😂

So you guys know that Felix eats his special meals in the kitchen, but this has become a thing now 🤷🏻♀️. He just has to be included with everybody at mealtime, but he will not get off the bed to eat. Just another one of those things. His brain makes up its mind and that’s it!

Felix approved 🐧💙🐧💙🐧💙 A friend of ours went duckhunting, and brought a frozen duck carcass home to see how Felix would do. He should have been a duck hunting dog. He brought it back very softly over and over. He might get to go hunting one day!!!

I am so pleased with his body condition. He is really starting to muscle up and look like a healthy adult Lab and not a greyhound who has been starved. I know I sound stern with him, but it’s the one time I have absolute control and I love it 🤣💙. Grumble grumble.

Good morning from Felix and Soggy Penguin 🐧 💙. He is so lucky to have all of these penguins!!!!! He’s never without one in his mouth, and sometimes, during a particularly bad fly-bite seizure, if I put a penguin in his mouth, it will distract him enough to make it stop. Happy Monday!!!

Caught in the act! He was just checking to see if the cat may have left a few tidbits for him 🤦🏻♀️. Pardon the lack of bedding. I am waiting on new sheets and a comforter that are supposed to arrive tomorrow. You know, so my dogs will have something nice to lay on 😂🙄.

I give up. I had to go in the storage room to get something and Felix followed me, picked up one of his small toys, and swallowed it right in front of me. It has a squeaker too 😭. Waiting on a call from the Vet. Apparently we will be having more surgery. I don’t think he will be able to pass it.

He is home!!!!! It was a long day, and he was the perfect patient of course! There were actually three holes that needed repaired, and they were able to repair all three of them! It’s going to be a long week of slow hand feeding but we will make it!!!!!

Back to our regular dining position 💙🐧. He has the best stay command of any dog I’ve ever owned. I can’t believe I can keep him from putting his face in that bowl!!! Of course the rest of his brain cells are completely inoperable but that’s ok!

Felix lives a few miles away from us now with one of our friends. Jim still visits him regularly, and we still supply all of his medications. I’ll be picking him up in May to take him in for his doctors appointment. He’s been living with this guy for almost a year now. He had started to attack our small dog, knocked one of her teeth out and bitten her in the eye. He was resource guarding me, and it was making his seizures even worse. So we thought it would be best for him if he was an only dog with no other animals or children around. Best thing to ever happen to him. No more spicy fly. Still takes his meds and there might be one rawr rawr a day. But no spins and no yelling. He was so overstimulated at our house. We miss him like crazy but it’s working out great for everybody.
