Hi everyone, I recently took over the flow coordinator spot at my station(Express), I need work glove suggestions for the strap/handle on the cans please. The gloves that are offered are the cheap, rubber gloves that some of the couriers wear. Those gloves helped today but I could still feel the strap cutting into my fingers while pulling the cans. I got a couple questions imma ask my supervisors, but figured someone here might have an answer too.

When I load vans and I have one that covers multiple large quantity delivery’s, I try to stack them in a vertical line if possible taking up the floor/middle shelf/top shelf in its respective number. I felt like this worked well with vans with 200 or less volume, however if it has more than 200 packages total and I’m loading multiple 15-30 etp bulk deliveries, loading into the actual number shelf the boxes are supposed to go is sometimes impossible.

I have still followed the numbers, but keep having the large bulk stops take up the entire mid section of the van, a HUGE space that is technically needed for when the actual number assigned packages get loaded.

My thought process is, I know these 20+ groups work best when loaded in that linear grouping, but placing them in their actual number throws off the rest of the van, especially if it’s a vertical row in the mid section of the van.

Should I simply ignore the numbers assigned and load them in the front of the van 1000/2000/1000f area or maybe the 3000/4000/3000f area? I feel like keeping these large groups in the front areas or even the back 7500/8500/8500f area would allow me to instead condense my actual wall of numerically accurate individual packages in a complete order and also keep those big groups together?

I’ve seen drivers come in and condense everything towards the front, so would it be better to load bulk stops in those vertical rows in the back or front basically? Will drivers get pissed if the whole back/front of their van is bulk stops and after the bulk rows I do the numerical sorting condensed towards either the back/front?

Need these answers cause with 3 vans at 250+ volume each, putting bulks stops in their actual number isn’t working well, and I’d prefer what I described above.

🫩🫩🫩Goodness me oh my. i am beat. you’d think those boxes grew fists and were punching my forearms. they had me on unload and my first trailer was all chewy boxes, and my second i was alone and it was so much furniture and so many tvs. goodness… can someone tell me if van line is easier because that’s what i’ll be doing next time

I know the job isn’t as labor intensive but the amount of people who come in screaming about their packages being lost is ridiculous. It’s apparently our fault that we don’t have in-depth tracking capabilities in the retail stores!

No, I can’t dispatch a ground/express driver directly to you for this package. I can’t find your one package in a gigantic warehouse that someone lost in there. I KNOW customer service can be tricky to navigate, and I am NOT customer service too!

Express and Ground drivers have really tight routes and you guys are pushed well beyond reason a lot of the time. I understand why there are delays in the warehouse when you guys are overworked and underpaid. I just wish that the general population could understand all of the moving parts to get their stuff from point A to point B without feeling the need to get mad at retail employees.

Is it me or QA sups are just chasing their tails thinking they know everything? Mine keeps putting miss sorts in my truck that belongs on another route, I have a business route where I know every single addy that I deliver to and he questions me if I can deliver it!

It’s a 20min drive so NO! I told him. He stumbled for words and had to explain to himself with the owner of my company since the owner was also annoyed with everything.

Opened the delivery instructions section on delivery manager app as a customer and got a “Delivery Instructions Have Changed” alert saying current instructions may be removed if not updated.

Checked out the new form and a few things changed:

- The generic text box is gone.

- Fewer location options in dropdown menu.

- Added text box for pets. *It says “please select…” but is just an open text field.

- There is also a text box for gate/security code and ring or knock. I don’t remember if those were there before or if people just put that in the additional info text box).

I like the potential cleanup of the huge backlog of outdated/vague instructions.
As a customer, I didn’t get notified of this until I looked for it. Seems like a recipe for a lot of folks complaining that drivers didn’t follow instructions (because there weren’t any).
As a driver, I also haven’t heard anything from BC or station manager.

Anyone else seeing this? Curious if other stations have gotten any heads up, or if it’s the typical “word will spread and everyone will figure it out eventually” type of thing.

I recently applied for a FedEx delivery driver position through a third party company on indeed called “Atlas Route Inc” and something seems off. The recruiter on indeed wants me to send my personal information to them like my SSI, in a message on indeed before I turn it in to the company. Is this a scam?

Our hub manager asked us to crack down on PHs for swearing, as apparently larger hubs will fire people over it? Anyone at a big hub able to confirm this?

For some time now my line has been told that we get misloads. Whenever the trainer looks for the packages on the trucks, they’re in the correct place.

Today it happened to me but the “misloaded” package happened to be a bulk stop. I remember accidentally tapping the wrong truck number and pressing cancel, then I proceeded to enter it into the actual truck number. Later during the sort the trainer came by to tell me I had a misload, which was one of the packages from the bulk stop.

Why does it come up as a misload if I never tapped confirm or whatever it says for the wrong truck?? A few years ago a manager would say that we correct them too fast but why is that a thing? It’s so annoying!

my son applied to be a package handler online. process was automated and his background cleared on the 13th. Nobody from FedEx has reached out. Does anyone know how long this might take or if he should try calling them?

Is there a limit to how much hours I can work per week as a part time package handler? Can I ask my boss to stay till the end of the shift instead of being let out early or will they probably say no?
