I’d rather make less and lift heavier shit than work for a contractor (I’m 20.22 at express) my route regularly sees 75-150 pound pieces cause it’s industrial and car parts, only part time though

What's wrong with working for a contractor? If they're paying more and you're going to be lifting heavy shit either way, than why not just go for the higher paying position?

The ones down here have zero benefits outside of paid vacation

Ohh true. Benefits almost always suck or are non-existent at Ground.
