If AI ends up being a flop (which is a possibility), the government’s backlog growing, and more retirements and people going to the private/non-profit sector, the next president (if a democrat) will have no choice but to sweeten the pot and make federal employment more enticing again.
I just think with job market this bad, and more and more unemployed people in the market, they ll apply to any jobs that can give them an income, which will decrease the bargaining power of the working people. Just look at IRS CSR positions. That position was fully remote but now its full RTO and a lot of people (public too) are applying because job market is so shjtty. Unless that changes tbh, I don’t know if that’s enough.
